THE GEORGE FLOYD TRAGEDY . That Mr. George Floyd was a victim of police action is evident. That his life matters and should matter to people all across the US and the world is evident.
That we must all seek the truth and that a full effective and intense investigation of the tragedy should take place and the guilty people brought to justice is also evident.

However, two things are not in line with the above evident statements;

  1. That this Tragedy be used by the political machine to ignite hatred and perpetuate greater American divide is simply wrong.

2.That this Tragedy ignites riots and looting in Minnesota that stains the legacy of George in associating it with acts of violence rather than the noble cause Of Black Life Matters is also wrong.

Justice for George is what everyone of us agrees with. But one Wrong plus one Wrong never equals 2 Rights.

If the store owners did not phone the police after Floyd passed them a counterfeit $20, and George, high on fentanyl, stumbled in front of a truck and was killed, no one would know and no one would care. George Floyd's life did not matter to anyone. He was a drug abuser and a violent criminal. What did George Floyd think of Black lives? Well that can be ascertained by his putting a gun up to the belly of a pregnant Black woman and threatening her unborn child's life if she did not give him money for drugs. The only thing he ever did for his family was drop dead while being arrested. Pretty much a lottery win for them. And canonization for George.

In all countries stop and search and brutality is based on the perception that you fit a criteria for crime. Whether black or white the main criteria is being underprivileged or labelled by the media as a candidate for crime. It’s heart wrenching to see the way human beings especially those with authority can easily abuse their position with their belief in immunity this happens everywhere. I used to see the same kids picked up time and time again, sure they weren’t the best citizens but they were abused, ignored and forgotten and their mates were all inside and their parents didn’t have the wherewithal to give a fxxk. I don’t know the answer but trying to divide a nation is definitely not it. My heart goes out to his family but after the furore is over as we say in England it will be tomorrow’s chip wrapper and nothing will change unfortunately.

I am not white or black. I am of light brown color but my son is darker and his black beard has been a cause for him to be stopped by police tens of times. It is sad. But True. We need to sensitize people to their prejudices (not necessarily racism). We are all human beings. Treat us fairly and equally under the law, and truth will shine. treat us unfairly and WE ALL LOSE.

@drshallal I agree whole heartedly xx

Never should have happened, to anybody. This one also should never have happened either but the media does not want to disturb their propaganda machine so it is totally ignored by MSM: His Name Is Kevin Humes: White Male in Atlanta, Walking Home from Night Out with Friends, Murdered by 15-Year-Old Black Male in Drive by Shooting

That's what makes "Civil Rights" types hypocrites. They aren't really about fighting injustice, they are about special privileges. I would much prefer their honesty versus pretending to care about actual injustice for all people.

I agree completely. This has been politicized in every fashion. Majority of people will never be able to see him as an American but only as Black. We should have equal outrage because he is a human being and an American deprived of his civil liberties.
