I think the bigger issue is that Trump screwed up the response. No tests, no ventilators, no hospital capacity - he tried to hide it like the Chinese to keep his numbers down.

If you place blame on Trump for such then fair enough, but then blame should also be put on Governors of the states with the most reported cases, as apparently they weren't prepared like they should have been. It's easy to blame one man, when in reality there is no shortage of blame to go around.

@SpikeTalon Governors definitely share in responsibility. Florida was shameful for instance.

But the states don't have a pandemic response team, can't send observers to China to monitor early (standard procedure before Trump), don't have a national emergency stockpile, cannot invoke the Defense Production Act, don't have NIH, cannot legally restrict travel, don't have FEMA or CDC, etc etc.

It's pretty clear who's most responsible.

But yeah Florida really fucked up.

@damo9f Guess the Federal Government isn't all it's cracked up to be...

@SpikeTalon Or the voters aren't. We can do a lot better.
