A large part of the problem with the EU (and its always been a problem) is that it was and is designed to Mooch off the “Makers” while MOST of the “members” are “Moochers” (Takers).
The UK/GB should never have been involved.
I’m sure the USA will be more than happy to create some sort of Trade Deal giving the UK all tge access they need. In the process both the USA and the UK will become Stronger.

Ariane launches from a former French colony in Guiana because it's on the equator. Britain owns equatorial islands that can be used as launch sites. Or it can use Commonwealth sites.
Britain also has a world class university system. It has a long history of entrapeneurial innovation. It has the wherewithal to be at the leading edge of the new space industry.
