Just want to let you know that we're tweaking the design of several pages but may be returning things pending your feedback. I know that any change has a stress component and few like to relearn where things are. Hang in there... hopefully, we'll all converge design/feedback by the end of the week. Let us know in this thread which changes you like and which need more work. Thanks!

@Admin How about a dark settings option like the sister site has? For night reading, all dark background with light colored wording. The upload videos on profile does not work along with the editing of profile questions.

Okay ...
A criticism I’ve made before but maybe differently.

I think there needs to be a “check” on consecutive posts ... or daily posts ... or something by any single person or maybe allow 2 by a person and then hold for an hour or something.
There are a few people who are simply copying a small piece of an article and then a link to it.
This is fine though I would wish they made some sort of personal comment to let US know WHY They posted it.

What really bothers me is there are those people who are simply posting links one after the other ... 5-6-7 ... 10 in a row and obliterating any sort of “Forum” aspect as their links push everything off the landing page ... even off the “see more” page.

Actually, at 6AM EST on Feb21 someone has posted 28 links in a row (a stack) followed by someone posting 14 (a stack) ... ALL on Feb 21 before 6AM EST

Right now there’s someone who has posted, I think, 10 or more links to the Wall Street Journal ... in a “Stack” ...
This practice is turning IDW into somebody’s personal version of Drudge or Whatfinger but usually using a single source (do we Really need to see 14 plus Wall Street Journal pieces from this morning?)

I could easily “name names” but, its easy to see who they are. I don’t know if this is an attempt to boost their “Level” or to simply Monopolize the Forum ... heck, maybe they actually believe We should be fascinated by Everything They are Looking at ... but it wrecks the concept of being a “Forum or Discussion Site.”

I want my "next post" button back! dang it! LOL I know there are/were a number of folks who didn't like it but I know I am not the only one who would like to have it back.

Never stop changing. Always find a better way! It’s what we expect from our leaders, so we should aspire to the same...direction.

Miss the dislike button

I preferred the previous home page with the daily visitors. If we can have that back, I like the rest of the changes so far.

I have two suggestions. First I think the person's profile image, if they have one should be a bit larger in the listings of new posts. A little easier to see who posted what. Second I have not been able to edit comments I leave on other people's posts. And being a lousy typist I generally need to do that A LOT. So setting that up would be great.

Can’t post
The submit post button doesn’t show

I'm hating all they've changed, , nothing easy anymore

Still dancing around, here...but enjoying myself. Don't have anything by way of suggestion to offer. Seems that you're paying attention and working through stuff.

I haven't contacted but one or 2 old FB Friends because I'm kind of diggin' the new neighborhood sans old baggage.

I think you're doing just fine! T

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Especially if you end up breaking it.

Or, as we say here, "If it ain't broke...don't break it..."

I can't post from mobile app anymore

I'd like to see the red numbers on bell symbol indicating incoming alerts back

Yes, they're coming back!

@Admin

Thank you!

I’m stressing ... STRESSING!!! I tell you!!!
You could alleviate that stress by sending a bottle of Lagavulin 16yo to the following address ...

Actually I think you’re doing fine to date ... no idea what the changes will bring ...
I still have NO CLUE what to do with these “coins” they look suspiciously like participation awards we can hand out to each other ... and are of similar value.

I think the idea was to be able to show appreciation for someone you find to be informative, and interesting on a consistent basis, a little pat on the butt if you will, LOL

The Coins could be exchanged for site merchandise- hat/shirt/coffee mug etc...

@SpikeTalon
Really? There’s a place to buy stuff? Not that I need stuff but hey ... can always use another coffee mug.

@Bay0Wulf When you click on your Coins count, should be an option that comes up directing you to the site store.

Learning can be a bit of a wake up - but it’s necessary for evolution and advancements so yuh, go for it!

When I’m composing a post, the “SUBMIT POST” button is mostly covered by the lower selection bar, making it difficult to access.

Brevity---it matters.

@Terence57

Thumbs up from me 😁
Or
Keep up the good work 😬

@Terence57
I had to google brevity

@MWhite That actually sounds dirty. I hope it was worth it!
