Our discussion group aims to cultivate good faith discourse with intellectual humility and charitable attitude to others’ views. We're a heterogeneous group interested in heterodox opinions and having a good time discussing them.

One wonders ... okay, I wonder ...
Is this “Meetup Group” actually affiliated with, or even attended by, people in this IDW Forum or is it simply a “clever” swipe?

it must be tough acting as a heterogeneous society in an individual discussion forum. however will your borg collective decide on what to present to attract members besides banners of three simple letters typed in social app

I've noticed that IDW meet groups are cropping up around the world. I that that is positive and encouraging for the movement. I'm not near L.A. but it sounds fun. Good luck.

Intellectuals ... in Los Angeles ...!!! Who’d’a thunkit?
“Intellectual Humility” and “Charitable Attitude towards Others’ Views” ...
I’ll be as charitable as I can be and say that’s pretty seriously Libertarian if not outright Liberal-Speak.

LA is a long reach for me and this doesn’t actually sound all that appealing given its billing.

Libertarian and liberal are on opposite ends of the narrative, Libertarians believe in the smallest govt possible, liberals believe they can legislate away all issues, don't try to lump me in with these big govt assholes

@808scotty
Sorry ... “Classic Liberals” not the “Liberals” of today ... or maybe I meant ... anyway, I wasn’t attempting to smear Libertarians

@Bay0Wulf Just making sure that there was not any confusion in terminology.

@Bay0Wulf Liberal today just means liberal application of the law, put regulation on everything the exact opposite of freedom of choice, and personal responsibility.
