This was a good documentary. Great value for our generations that didn't live through the cold war. The difference between East (communist/USSR run) and West Berlin became more and more evident as they years passed and by the time President spurred the destruction of the wall allowing free movement from east to west, the difference between the free and the communist sides resembled the difference between 1st world and 3rd world countries. Lack of historical evidence is another example of why so many of our young people are willing to vote for socialism/communism over our capitalist based democratic republic. They are taught the Utopian promises and lies of the left instead of the historical evidence of real life.

I'm surprised they said nothing about checkpoint Charlie though. By the way, the wall wasn't only guarded by the communists, the western side was also guarded too; not to stop movement of the residents, but to stop the potential invasion of the communist soldiers. This was our part of our mission when I was in the Army in mid to late 80s before the wall came down.
