All one has to do is talk to anyone who has left a socialist country to find out how 'great' it is.
I happen to have a neighbor who grew up in eastern Europe. She related to me that once, before the wall came down, she approached the wall and gave the finger to the guards in the tower. She's fortunate she didn't get shot for her actions.

It's these people who have escaped socialism who need to be listened to. However, many in the younger generation will only turn a deaf ear to what they have to say.

Worth thinking about. This is the first election people born in this century will be able to vote in. More and more of them seem to be comfortable giving the state limitless power over their lives so that they never have to be responsible for themselves. It's scaring the hell out of me after being able to draw parallels between today's current events and much of the recent reading I've been doing.

So basically, as you can tell when you get in arguments with people from both sides by playing devil's advocate, capitalists often like capitalism specifically because it helps the poor and hate socialism specifically because it makes things worse for everybody especially the poor. Socialists think capitalism isn't fair enough and socialism will fix it. In other words, socialists never learned that the world isn't fair, or blamed that on capitalism rather than on the simple fact that we're all different.
