I see so many very upset about no privacy in public yet i see also one of the hottest selling gadgets is the ring doorbell for their home. You can't have it both ways...you either want privacy or you want security...society needs to make a choice.

People should not expect privacy on MY property. But then I don't have cameras there either.

@Serg97 I understand that completely and the government feels that way too but they do have cameras. Again society wants body cams on first responders but not on them...can't have it both ways.

@Dmwils One other thing I have found is that cameras DO NOT TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH.
Pictures and video are open to interpretation. In my experience, this is a problem with both surveillance and body cameras.

@Serg97 yes Sir I found that first hand in the little town I live in and their traffic cameras..I enjoyed pointing out to the judge that yes that was my car but if he'd indulge me by looking at 5-10 more videos he'd find the exact same cars in the background of each video...I didn't have to pay the fine..

It is perfectly reasonable for someone to want to be anonymous while walking down a public street IMO. We have strayed so far from the intent of the 4th Amendment it is Orwellian. We have traded our essential Liberty for Security and some might say we now deserve neither. ...If cameras everywhere is okay because one lacks an expectation of privacy in a public place, then I feel like it should be perfectly reasonable for someone who does want their privacy to wear a mask. Where does that leave us as a society? Perhaps some expectation of privacy, even on a public street, is essential to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

We should probably have a heart to heart on privacy once we get over the current acidic political climate.

Legally, when we are in the public, we should have no expectation of privacy. However, in a world where the police are spying on presidential candidates, it doesn't take too much to imagine a small fraction of possible abuses that this power is introducing.
