As I recall, the Borg were defeated by a virus.

The analogy breaks down there because reasonable people are unwilling to participate in the destruction of civil society. Unreasonable people will do whatever they feel will bring them power.
I think Schwab looks good here. Maybe we should see that he is properly outfitted.
