As well as contempt for reality. Firstly, electric cars are environmentally worse than fossil fuel across the board. Mining for them is an environmental and social disaster. Electric cars are not more effective at controlling CO2 release than fossil cars. And soon governments will no longer be solvent enough to afford underwriting electric cars, and consumers will begin to feel their true cost to operate - which will be higher than fossil cars.

Secondly, the potential for electric cars is already near its maximum development, so they will NEVER be able to compete with fossil fuel as long as it exists - and that will be a very long time. Many generations. The current generation pushing electric cars is going to seem like horse and buggy people to the generation who has to live with them.

And the answer when fossil fuel finally becomes too expensive to use? Fuel cells. There is awesome potential in fuel cells. Not electric cars. But when should we prepare for that transition?

Not now. History proves that we innovate best at the doorstep of change, so that should happen when fossil costs climb high enough to underwrite the development.

Do fuel cells rely on electric car technology? Yes, but the current tech will be outdated by the time fuel cells are making cars go. How do I know? I have spent a significant amount of time in my engineering career on renewable technology.

Of course you could invest in all of those alternatives now, and lose your shirt, just as have photovoltaic and battery innovation investors... except those in the market to profit only on those foolish enough to invest in those things long term.

More like contempt for America. The Dems want the USA to make a suicidal kamikaze dive against climate hysteria.
