One note to Scott Ritter regarding his comment on what Taiwan means to the west. Taiwan in the hands of the CCP provides them with deep-water ports for their submarines and it gives China control over the "third-ring" of defense that includes Okinawa and Philippines that they do not currently have. Taiwan provides them military power over all the straits and trade routes of the Pacific

I suppose anything is possible but I am very skeptical about the doom sayers fretting over impending WWIII.
One thing to keep in mind is that for all the worry of what harm the Chinese can or might do is more than counterbalanced by the harm the US military / Navy can do.
I don't believe China is willing to go to war over Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
We may well have a bunch of folks in the military who are "confused" over what to do with the genitalia but It just might be that one of those limp wristed crossdressng "persons" could drop a 50 megaton nuke on your Tiananmen Square
