A 66-year-old Scottish man who has donated blood for years says he was turned away after refusing to answer if he was, or had recently been, pregnant. Several schools of reporting on this one.

Apparently the man was a woman and was know by the clinic to be pregnant... hence the question needed to be answered so as to avoid further duty of care claims....

More likely to be the version above... though his age is to be as cloudy as the article.
