Wow — I am not looking forward to what this summer holds. It is hot, hot, hot. Did I mention hot? When I got out to do a necessary task at 9 AM I thought it wouldn't be a pressure cooker yet, but — holy smokes! Oh, it was pleasant enough in the shade where one could enjoy the refreshing breeze, but the moment one stepped out of the shade, it was like the transition to the solar side of Venus. If I had wanted to have popcorn for breakfast, I could've put some kernels under my hat, and 20 seconds later I would've had a fresh serving already salted & buttered with brain-ooze. Fortunately, now I am ensconced in my air-conditioned capsule for the day … and I am tremendously grateful to whomever invented air conditioning! May God bless him and his descendants forever and ever, amen.
