I don't know who the “many Americans” would be who would see Putin as a “hero,” if that is the “sicko in Russia” that you had in mind.
@KeithThroop I have seen and read repeatedly that Putin is a hero to many Americans on the right fringe of the political spectrum because he is as anti-woke as you can get.
What about Tucker Carlson and his fans?
@Matias66 I guess I have missed that. Although I have seen many mentions of his being “anti-woke,” as you suggest, I have not seen him regarded as a hero. At any rate, while I appreciate the fact that he has gotten very close to the Russian Orthodox Church in recent years and has taken some stands against wokeness that I can agree with, I don't trust his motivations for any of it, and I don't think it makes him a good guy. Frankly, I think he is almost certainly just using the church and these social issues for his own selfish, political ends. It seems to be that he is trying to create something akin to a Czarist Russia with himself as the Czar.
