What's your opinion on biometric firearm safes? [ammoland.com]

Personally, I'm leery when it comes to biometric gun safes...

if you have to get to your gun in a hurry a bio-metric safe is going to slow you down considerably - maybe fatally.

This seems very situational and weapon specific. A bio safe, for a hand gun, is great for the bedroom, bolted to the side on one's bed. Mine opens in about 1-1.5 seconds. Ca law requires all weapons to be secured and the owner is responsible for their misuse. This is a reasonable accommodation to keep it away from curious grand kids/guests, etc.

If it’s an option you want that’s fine but I don’t think it should be required by law.

I agree with that.

I prefer my guns the old-fashioned way, loaded.
