I just called both my senators about this, and I think it would be a good idea for you to contact your senators, too. WikiLeaks' founder, Julian Assange, undoubtedly has a lot of information that would be valuable to the United States Senate Intelligence Committee, which he may be willing to share if he is granted immunity. I support Senator Paul's proposal and asked both Senator Rubio and Senator Scott to throw their weight behind it. Take a look, and see if you don't agree:

I agree people should write to their representatives any time they want to have them listen. Politicians are ultimately in it for the votes. Do I think it will happen, that Assange, will be brought here to testify, no I do not. He will continue to be demonized in the public eye view as dangerous and we will continue to be protected from it for the greater good.

According to reports, primarily because of this, H.R.5736 - Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 112th Congress (2011-2012), modifying the original 1948 bill.

For the policy wonks to dispute what it actually says, and maybe present it in another light, here's your link: [congress.gov]
Just as an idea of what this might mean in layman's terms, this link from IVN (Independant Voter Network) tries to contextualize it: [ivn.us]

I agree with Rand Paul on this. It's highly likely that Assange won't be found guilty of any crimes. also, it's very likely that what information Assange does have will likely lift the lid off the deep state, and bring light on the Obama/Clinton apparatchik. This is where the tires meet the turf, and a clear litmus test of where Senators stand. I'll be highly surprised if this goes through. The Senators and political pundits that whine the loudest, likely have the most to lose. I wonder if they'll end up with prison time, or will a guillotine get erected.

The FBI said he is not Guilty of any crime, I dislike the term witch hunt but what else can it be?
