What do people mean when they talk about "white culture"?
I am asking this from a perspective of finding it pretty meaningless and therefore confusing when coming up against terms like "white culture" and "white genocide". I play the banjo, bones and the Irish frame drum called the Bodhran. The banjo was originally an African instrument which came to the Caribbean and America with African slaves. The bones are probably the oldest musical instrument known to man, also found in Egyptian tombs and introduced to American music by Irish immigrants and sailors. The frame drum is a basic drum played throughout the world, Native American, Siberian, North African and throughout the Islamic World called a Daf or Bendir.
So what is "white culture"?

When you appease the minority, you alienate the majority. How about we just hire the best person for the job without regard for race, age, gender or beliefs. Most people are aware enough of their surroundings that they don't apply for jobs that don't suit. Neither Jews nor Muslims are likely to apply for work at a pork growing, processing place of work. Catholic nurses usually avoid abortion clinics. Not many Hindus work in liquor stores. Jehovah Witnesses do not work in blood banks. But defining a "White Culture" is a daunting task. Pork production, liquor consumption, blood banks, abortions, are all a part of many cultures.

I pretty sure there isn't one. But it makes a lovely rallying cry for anyone sympathetic to the KKK.

It is insulting to refer to a group of people as a color. I am not 'white.' I am a descendant of Europeans, and European is my race. There is no monolithic 'white' culture, and it is racist to assert the opposite. There are 87 distinct ethnicities, with their own diverse cultures/languages/dialects, in Europe.

Now, with respect to the United States, 'white culture' means AMERICAN CULTURE, as the country was founded by Europeans upon Judeo-Christian and European Enlightenment values. The revolution against 'white culture' is really an attack on the foundations of America itself.

For all the pandering and devision that is being nursed at nauseam by the liberal #poorlittleme train it is a false devision to further the socialistic drive via creation of every light pigmented persons fabricated guilt to pay reparations via a socialistic Marxist system to all other more pigmented fellow humans. Culture is way of life that has developed within and apart of other groups of homo sapiens as their own way of life and survival influenced by their geographical borders and climates present. It marvelous my comprehension how so many humans can be blindly guided by their pigmentation and develop such a “ self hate” . Be proud of who you are , your history and culture. Be respectful of other cultures. Stop making one group of humans responsible for others or their actions. It’s ok to be different !

White Culture is just a race baiting term. The only thing anyone in America should worry about first and foremost is American Culture.

The question is how do we frame the conversation about the importance of a single culture (essentially assimilation) so the other side doesn't immediately shut down? Things have gotten so polarized based on a ton of lies and misunderstandings in both directions we can't even have the conversations. We need a common set of values, and we probably need that single marker--in essence I'm saying the model for America is a good model. We need to get back to it, rather than abandon it in favor of the chaos nothingness brings. But, this idea is apostasy, apoplectic, apocalyptic, and poopy to one worlders.

Cultural Marxism. Plain and simple, a way to divide, pander, gain power , get special treatment and votes! It's the newest conquering paradigm!

2

There is constant pressure to funnel people into identity politics . It's no accident . Advertising and marketing depend on target demographics . The economy depends on knee jerk responses to psych programs . It makes simple work of building emotional triggers into media presentations.

Good question and comments. I'll add this because I don't see it yet. Majority culture is often overlooked. People can't even articulate it, because it's sort of this undercurrent--the standard by which all others are defined. What would 'black culture' be without something to compare it to?

Like everyone else, I hate the 'white culture/black culture' ideas. There are many white cultures and many black cultures and many asian cultures and many latino cultures.

Framed as white identity, it MIGHT make some sense, but still the possibility exists that there are many white identities.

We spend way too much time talking about skin. It's dumb. There are more reasonable reasons to hate each other than skin. It's actually embarrassing. Hate's pretty dumb, but at least the hate between right and left on the political spectrum is actually a thing. Our differences on abortion, for example, are pretty important because people die. Our differences on immigration have a big economic and quality of life component. Those are at least legitimate disagreements. Skin--what is that? I totally disagree with your skin!

Exactly ! It's all a facilitated discussion , manipulating emotions to produce a desired outcome .

@Georgesblogforum, and it's working brilliantly.

@chuckpo Today , Pavlov would use a Liberal Retriever .

When the SJW left wants to dump on "white" people, they use derogatory terms like "white supremacy" or "white privilege", so it's ok to mention "white" when you're using it negatively, but you're not allowed to defend anything "white" or discuss "white culture" in positive terms. If you do, the left tells you it's racist to mention the word "white". When it comes to culture or civilization, we have to refer to "European" or "Western" culture.

4

The idea that an immutable characteristic like skin color, would provide information regarding the individual being considered, is not in line with "western culture." Many "white cultures" of Europe had engaged in white genocides of their neighboring country (ex. Germany and Russia into Poland).

Any culture that excludes Candace Owens from it because she's black is not for me. Let's stay clear of sick identity politics game the leftists play.

Haha, awesome. Candace Owens is becoming a litmus test for a new way of thinking. We can probably distinguish people on whether or not they think she's terrific. But, I love the way you put that. I don't want to be part of any 'culture' that excludes Candace either. She's not the only one. But, she sure steps all over that intersectionality as weapon narrative.

Vague description. Should be "Europeon" culture aspired by Greco/Roman, mostly Christian. They controlled anything they could in relations to other cultures and absorbed the best, along with some worst, from them all.

My girlfriend has a little more injun in her than Pocahonkey, so she sees them as merciless conquerors of the New World; Old world to her people. Other cultures obviously see 'white' culture in this way as a result of the escape from the European feudal system before and after the fall of the Holy Roman Empire.

In America we think of the expansion into N.A. when there's Australia, S. Africa, Polynesia...the Dutch stole coffee, with threat of death, from the Saudi Arabian peninsula, took slaves or endentured servants to the island of Java when the pygmies on the island were found to be unrulable.

So, have a cup of Java.

"White Culture?" Not sure such a thing exists, but millions of migrants are leaving their own cultures to look for it.

When the SA government's militia target Boer Farmers that is white genocide I suppose because the Boer's biggest crime is being white in the eyes of the SA government. As for 'white culture' ... there is a racist term, used by Hollywood, the music industry, and Democrat politicians called 'black culture'. Not sure WTH all that is about but mkay.

European Culture is being part of Western Civilization. The genesis of Western Civilization is putting Plato into a tautological cyclotron and slamming him into Moses. The West's culture became Christian (which can be seen as post messianic Judaism) with a very heavy leavening of Greek Platonism. Roman and Germanic democratic institutions (cameral bodies and the additions to the concept of commoner rights) do make their contributions as well.

Those that tend to generalize most everything down to a racial component to fit their racial views use race to assert blame, privilege, discrimination to their advantage. Quick easy attack or rejection of people, places and things for lazy little minded opportunists. Caucasians are not close to all the same in terms of culture. Slavic, Nordic, Gaelic, Germanic, American Northern, Southern, Western....my God the Welsh. I have encountered Scots on holidays....fun folk but I must listen closely and still miss alot because of language and culture!

The electric guitar is all because of whitey. And the ability to power said guitar as well. And the ability to transport it on land or in the air.

3

The politics of division. That's all it is.

3

Hello. A good question. Maybe white culture means the culture that developed with Western civilisation based on an ignorant presumption...?

4

I prefer the term Western or European culture to "white culture" - but yes music and other stuff has had a wide influence and it doesn't really matter where it originated from. Borrowing from a source and mimicking it is what I would call cultural appreciation not the the so-called "appropriation" which moral narcissists carry on about. Hell sometimes music and other innovations have been improved upon. I believe the bagpipes originally came from outside Scotland but now the Scottish have made the bagpipes their national instrument and a staunch part of their cultural history. The Japanese are renowned for improving on inventions that Europeans first created. I guess you could say that the suit and tie and trousers where European but now it is world wide and hardly seen as being a white mans clothing.
