I knew about exif data being there as I'm a bit of an Amateur photo buff but

Like the concept of terrorists using airliners full of people to bomb the World Trade Center, I just don't think along that way

Thanks for the tip and I'm going to strip off my exif data before posting now

It is very important to know childrens photos have been stolen and used to raise money for criminals, and i had a guy post about me in a town i grew up in all kinds of nasty thing's ( not that i really care) as well i had a forced downloaded threat into my phone from Facebook information only someone could know if they had seen a pic and profile. As well your children's picture's playing innocently in the room yard ect. Can be Photoshop in some very disturbing way's. Believe me i been reseaching perversion a long time now and keeping your family safe is on you.

Yeah, I would really hate to find out that somebody could dig into my vacation photos and find out where I vacationed and when.. in spite of the fact that I am posting those pictures all over social media as they are taken in real-time. Such an invasion of privacy.

Are thieves really by-passing tens of thousands of homes full of things to steal my coffee table that I am selling for a bargain price on craigslist? Seems like that may be more trouble than it is worth.

The little boy playing ball in a small town in Ohio... who cares? Unless there is somebody specific targeting you or your family.. somebody you are specifically on the run from.. you really think some random person is going to look up your exif data and track you down... while driving past thousands of other towns and ballparks?

Seems like a bunch of alarmist knee jerk bullshit to me.

It probably is, just thought that was worth sharing with the community is all.

Important ways to get around exif data display: " Many sites that let you display photos to friends or the public remove the Exif data before the images are shown to others. If you upload pictures to Craigslist, Facebook, Imgur, Instagram, Twitter, or WhatsApp, the Exif data won’t be available to the people who see them."

YOu can download an exif app and test this.
