The real problem is the format. If a real conversation about why there is such speculation were wanted (which I doubt in this case) the time constraints of the segment prevents it anyways. There have been numerous arson and attacks on religious properties in Paris, but he would not have had time to go into all of that. TV news just makes itself shallow and useless.

Ironically not even 20 minutes later he mentioned the possibility of arson but warned that there was no evidence to support it. He's pompous but too prone to hyperbole for my taste.

Should we foment outrage with nothing more than speculative ideas about the fire? Absolutely not. Wait for the results of the investigation. Then we all can speculate on the voracity of the investigation, the official reports, the investigators themselves. This is the real problem for "authorities".
