I guess when you turn 64 the telemarketers consider you fresh meat and an easy mark

I've been getting a Tsunami of robocalls, 4 to 8 a day, for the last two months

Ever wanted to toss your phone off the balcony? Or in my case take a walk to the lake

The "Do not call" registry doesn't work but an app can do miracles

Blessed Silence!

To finally get to the point (I'm 64, give me a break) the miracle is in the form of a FREE app that's on the Google Play Store called simply enough "Call Blocker"

You just select block calls except from your contacts list and that's what it does

There probably is a good app for the IPhone but an iPhone user would have to chime in with that t

I just don't answer calls that I do not recognize and if they do not leave a message, I do not call back.

My wife (bless her) made the mistake of giving to one of those police or fire fighter charities that calls. Since then they have been relentless. She a sweetheart but, even she finally gave them a piece of her mind. We'll never give again and that's what she told them. That slowed them down somewhat. I wonder if those companies know the damage they are doing.

I let my husband answer he has a arsenal of ammo like thank you calling J's massage palor we try not to rub you the wrong way.
Inflatable alter boy rentals
You reach the drug traffickers hotline.
And many more.

IMO, the longer you can keep them on the phone, the more it costs them. If nothing else, just leave the phone off the hook until they hang up. But even better-- engage them and waste their time. If enough people would do that it would drive the cost of telemarketing through the roof and would remove the profit motive.

If your Android is rooted, Root Call Blocker is an awesome app.

I have a Chinese tablet (retailed in China) to see what the ChiCom government does to censor speech.

First is Baidu, the only source of anything, kinda like Google but far more limited.

I had to root it just to install anything besides Baidu's slim offerings and I still haven't figured out how the Google Play Store is still blocked

Guess I'll have to dig into the etc directory & other config files
