I was thinking about this the other day and it occurred to me that if there were no Islam, we would probably have world peace already. The people in North Africa and the Middle East would be practicing Christianity, Judaism or pre-Islamic religions. In this regard, the pre-Islamic religions we know by history were tolerant of each other in Mecca.
There very likely would have not been an Inquisition.
There would have been an earlier end to slavery.
There would have been no Ottoman empire and so no assassination of Crown Prince Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 1914 and thus no WWI. With no WWI, the whole history of North Afica and the Middle East would have been different. There would have been no WWII.
It seems very unlikely that there ever would have been a Soviet Union. Reforms in Russia and China may still have been violent (especially China given its history of warlords); but there would have been no world wide communist party.
Thought about this way, Muhammad has the blood of 100's of millions of innocent people on his hands. Islam - the worst idea any human ever came up with.
