Just read a post about "Nationalism". While I'm pleased we have a forum where any topic can be discussed the nature of that discussion, unfortunately, got ugly fast. Too bad. The cussing and personal attacks turned me off quickly. I don't care to engage in conversations where personal threats and attacks occur. It degrades and distracts from the point of the discussion. I would encourage those who resort to these methods to reconsider the benefits of civility in all meaningful conversations.

My post has nothing to do with suggesting anyone's free speech should be curtailed in any way. Rather it makes the point that I, personally, will not engage in discussions with people who don't understand the benefits of civility bring to conversations. Cussing, personal threats of violence as well as personal attacks degrade and diminish discussion. I not only support free speech but also support peoples right to be offensive. I'm just not going to engage with folks who utilize those tactics.
@Demere so why did you engage at all in such a heated post?

If I'm out of line I'd appreciate if people called me out. I am often wrong.
@RubyWright that's self evident by my presence here. I'm an advocate for people to be able to say whatever they like, even if I don't care for it.
