The Great Carbon Hustle - As of April 4, 2019, the population of China is 1,418,845,950 billion people as compared to Canada that has a population of 37,200,120 million.

China has one of the worst air qualities of any country in the entire world and there are days when many people cannot even leave their homes because the smog is so thick and they must wear masks if they do. Some days they cannot see 10 feet in front of them!

Instead of attacking this problem, the United Nations and governments world-wide are sticking to their Paris Acccord and their Agenda 21/30 plans and are trying to instill a carbon tax on western nations.

Why is it that countries like Canada, that are carbon neutral because of our great boreal forests and have the highest environmental standards in the world, must pay for countries that have absolutely no environmental standards, leaving them free to continue to abuse the planet.

With this current government, the costs to fuel our vehicles and heat our homes and operate our businesses has risen to unaffordable amounts and will continue to rise until we do something. The problem is, there are very few affordable, reliable, proven-effective options for us to use. (Please don't tell me to take the bus or convert to solar power .... we live in Canada where there are no busses in small towns and the snow would bury solar panels in half an hour)

I know Canadians would be more than happy to convert to a more affordable "greener" energy if there were some proven reliable alternatives available but unfortunately, until we come up with one, we are screwed!

The government has given us a take it or leave it - or walk or and ride the bus - kind of ultimatum in an attempt to quickly change our ways or be penalized for it, while they drive around in their fancy SUV's (compliments of the Canadian tax-payer) and jet-set to various locations for conventions and meeting on how to screw us further

Personally, watching this from the sidelines and seeing what they are doing to this great country, I can come to no other conclusion other than it being a total cash grab as a way to cripple Canadians both financially and economically and make us more reliant on the government than ever.

Thoughts?

Citizens need to take back our country. The Liberals and NDP governments need to be voted out and we need a strong government that takes its citizens seriously. Carbon taxes most be abolished and we must remove ourselves from the UN and Paris accords. We also need to get to the base root of this problem as the left has taken over our schools, legal system and main stream media. People have been too complacent for too long.

The quickest way to become wealthy is to invent a new currency out of thin air .Obama is a member of an investment brokerage that trades in carbon credits . The scam positions crooked politicians like Obama to become Trillionaires .

I totally agree, I would love to see us have our own currency and live independent of the government!

@Carolee I apologize for my vague answer to the posted questions . From my view , any talk of inflation is inconsequential . I saw a statement in 2005 that said that the Federal Reserve Note had lost 97% of its purchasing power , since 1930 . It is safe to say that the rest of the blood has been squeezed out of that turnip .

The carbon taxes... if we really want them at all... should be on carbon polluters like China and India.

You look across the ocean to the protesters in Paris to see how you should respond to this injustice. It is a scam, plain and simple. They intend to redistribute the wealth in the world and they have been quite clear about that
