Because Communism compared to socialism is the same as Murder to Suicide. Give me my freedom and independence.

What exactly are the "pros" of socialism? Name one. All of the examples I can think of in the US are awful. The welfare system is failing. Social Security is (obviously) a failure. WIC, child protective services, Veterans Affairs, public schools... these can all be called "socialist" programs that are not functioning well, frequently abused, and generally run inefficiently by our ever-growing government. I fully agree that safety-nets should be available, but we should definitely reevaluate the way these programs and services are structured and who they are administered by.

And on the topic of socialism, why do liberals feel as though they need to steal the money from tax payers to make socialism work? How about this: If you believe in Socialism, then choose to allow a much larger portion of your own income to be taxed. As a "socialist program" extra tax payer, you will be entitled to your own perceived benefits. This will allow non-participating tax payers the option of affording, and planning for their own health care. Everybody's happy! Problem solved!

I really can’t think of a benefit of true socialism so I can’t register an answer to your poll. Perhaps you were thinking of the benefits of a capitalist country that has safety nets set up for the poor and the needy and mistaking that for socialism
