Hello, this is my first time here. I am Australian. I am pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-climate change as well as advocating for the release of the Mueller report. I am not seeking for opinions regarding abortion or gun control, because pro-choice and pro-life see fetuses differently and gun culture being a staple in America. I am seeking opinions regarding why climate change is seen as a hoax as well as regarding the Mueller Report.

Welcome to the IDW community, where free speech is allowed. You won't be called a "denier" if you dare question the assertion by the UN, other political power players, governments and profiteers, that the "science is settled." Such "settled" science would not be professed by any true, objective scientist, who recognize the complexity of climate prediction, where questions and inquiry should arise; who would not mandate dogmatic, fascist compliance to such a complex issue. Please read MickeyRat's informed response below, as well as consider looking into well-qualified, expert skeptics or "deniers" responses to the "pro-climate change" mantra. Thankfully, such expert "deniers" are still allowed, for the time being, on the Internet, even if not on Chuck Todd's "Meet the Press" so-called news show. I would not deny that climate changes, as evidenced by the past ice ages, mini-ice ages, and warming trends in the past, recent and distance, but I would strongly deny that it's settled science and that man is the primary cause of any such change. Btw, why was the issue's name man-made global warming changed to man-made climate change in recent years by the "'pro-climate change" supporters, political brokers and beneficiaries? Could it be the warming trend has ended or could be proven to be an unreliable corollary? Please view Dr. Judith Curry's short senate hearing testimony in YouTube link following. She shares how inquiry and open mindedness, once encouraged in academia, is typically no longer practiced, specifically in regards to the theory of significant man-made global warming, also called man-made climate change.

How can you be pro-choice and pro-gun control at the same time? What is pro-climate change? Are you pro-choice for abortions, vaccinations, gender identifying?
Climate change is seen as a hoax because they have been spouting the same crap for the last 60 years. There is also too much evidence that the earth has gone through multiple temperamental climate changes throughout history.
How do we know that the changing of the poles is not setting off a series of changes?
We know that they have been cloud seeding for over 50 years, how do we know that this has not set off some butterfly effect?
Lets clean up our oceans of all the plastic and then see where our climate problems are. Besides nothing can be done about it. Are we prepared to go to war with industrial nations to stop the factories from spewing gases into the atmosphere? It would be interesting to see the spin put on that.

Wow! You just gave your point of view on quite a few topics and then said but don't talk to me about your views on them. Lol Nice.

Anyway, on to your question that we are allowed to respond to, "climate change". In the 70's they said it was global cooling we had to worry about. In the 80's it went to global warming. Then, in the mid 90's it just became the climate is changing. Well, yeah, the climate does that. In fact, if you follow the actual scientists, not politicans and actors/actresses, the scientists are saying we are going into another mini ice age. That is why the planet heated up for the 80's. Notice how we don't hear about the hole in the ozone layer anymore? Why not? Where did it go? Did it fix itself? How could it have if we are supposedly destroying the planet? We keep being told the damage to the planet is getting worse, right? So how would it have fixed itself? Why do we still have polar bears? They were supposed to be extinct in the 80's. They are actually not only still here but have increased in numbers. Nothing we have been told was going to happen since the 70's has actually happened.

I have to agree with it getting colder not hotter.

Don't concern yourself with the release of the Muller report

IT WILL BE RELEASED

Trump wants it released. So does AG Barr. And as far as I know nobody is objecting to the release

In simple words...

BTW, welcome M8

I don't believe in climate change i read agenda 21 from the U N web site its made up to collect taxes to pay for migration to western countries to form one world religion which will form a one world government ,its a hoax they been saying we all gonna die in the next ten years but been saying it for the last 40 years or more . Your not gonna see the mueller report because it probably shows clinton colluded with russia and did treasonous acts . Trump innocent stop hanging on to hope he is not ,you should be worried about the direction your country is headed things getting scary down under,

By Now London , most of Australia ,New York should be under water ? I believe its a natural change . It is getting hotter in Canada I think it was due to that Volcano a while back
that blew up and the sun spots . They have made a lot of money off this thing , we are ones that will pay .

Glad to have you here. My problem with the climate change issue is at least two fold. First the scientists involved have not shared their data only their conclusions. There is an ongoing case in by Michael Mann (If you don't know who he is, you aren't really interested in global warming) against Tim Ball where he has been ordered to reveal his raw data. This has been going on for years. To date he has not complied. The East Anglia emails show that the people involved know there's a lot more uncertainty than they reveal in public. This stinks to high heaven.

Second, science has taken many wrong turns over the centuries. Francis Bacon articulated the scientific method to help stop that from happening. It's a 4 step process. Here's how it's been implemented with global warming.

1, Observation global warming
2. Hypothesis it's caused by CO2
3. Test the hypothesis Dubious models based on unproven assumptions that have failed over time to predict temperatures within any reasonable expectation.
4. Attempt to disprove the hypothesis Silence anyone that disagrees, have their funding cut and try to hound them out of the profession.

So I'm dubious.

I'm not mentioning the adjustments to past temperature measurements made by NASA. For more about that look up the articles by the Manhattan Contrarian.

As for the Meuller report, I have no doubt that as much as possible will be revealed. The thing is grand jury proceedings are secret as are classified sources and methods. It's never going to be revealed in its entirety but, I'm sure most of it will be out there in a couple months.

MickeyRat, sound and wise response - thanks for sharing! It's what I've read and heard from numerous reputable, qualified scientists - climatologists, meteorologists, astrophysicists, etc and what I've also heard re: grand jury testimony, having some Constitutionally guaranteed protections for those who testified without any attorney's of their own. Anyway, back to point, my comments here will be focusing on your climate change comments, which are excellent. Sadly, the scientific method, as intended to be used, isn't being used properly. False data into the climate models leads to faulty predictions; moreover, man made global warming/climate change alarmists are using predictions from computer models instead of actual, objective data to mandate costly - to private industries and individuals - govt regulations. We now have politicized science to feed the politicians' and globalists' appetite for self-serving interests - for power and money - versus a desire for true, objective science. We're living in an "Atlas Shrugged" type of society. For a novel-non-fiction combo book to entertain and educate, Australian Guy, if interested, consider reading Michael Crichton's "State of Fear." Wondering why you believe in the climate change HOAX ( as it I now called)? How has or with it change? Hot? Cold? More rain? Less rain? Etc..

Welcome!

Your opinions are your own. Where so many folks who think something get into trouble is when they can't let them go in the face of facts and actions to the contrary.

That's a failing of "people" - no matter what they are in favor (or opposed) to.
