Richard Spencer, what a disgusting piece of crap. God, I really hope that nobody in this community supports this poor excuse for a human being. This guy is super dangerous. His views are really scary stuff... I can't believe somebody like this still has a platform in 2019. This is the kind of stuff we have to keep fighting against.

I nominate the OP as being far more dangerous than Richard Spencer

he is literally like a parody figure of an SJW, claiming to be a conservative

I have heard of this guy, and know very little about him, except what he has been labeled, and now you are going to convince me to look into him and hear his views,
Your call.
But if his views are so bad, what makes him dangerous? Surely if his views are so bad nobody is listening to him?
If you can see straight through him, how come the rest of us are so helpless?

Thanks for posting this. I have never heard Richard Spencer speak before, but I heard leftists call him a racist, white supremacist, so I had always dismissed their characterizations as typical smears of all white conservatives. Now that I listened to him, It sounds like they may be right on Spencer. However, I don't believe he incites violence.

He says many controversial ,provocative things but never seems to incite violence (not publicly anyway). I see him as a byproduct of political struggles in the thick of identity politics.

Perhaps I could rephrase it to RS is the secondary problem being a white supremacist to the primary problem being created and overlooked by the establishment. He is in a way similar to Tommy Robinson apart from that TR isn't an ethno-nationalist.

Don't apologise - you're entitled to your opinion. 🙂 Yes, their stances are different as you rightly point out, but I still see them as the secondary problem, i.e., a reaction to the current political climate which is driven by identity politics. Douglas Murray can probably explain better than I.

Me, too. I think that people like RS have always been around, and yes, they are probably not very nice people, but the current political climate doesn't help - blaming white men for everything, etc. only fuels people like him and their movements, I think. How did we come to this? We're so divided and are constantly blaming each other. We're all guilty, I think.

He's more than a bit scary. I don't like what he says but, he's articulate in making his point.

I'll also say that i have had a discussion with a person on here that is probably a fan of his. He tried to discount me because I'm a boomer. When challenged him for a logical argument I got called a traitor to my race. When I said that made as much sense as saying I was a traitor to my eye color. I got called false white. In other words, the subject was different but, it was eerily like arguing with someone on the left. The debate tactics were identical.

@modestMillennial I have to be honest when it comes to arguing about gun control or racism, I have a hard time distinguishing between the left and the hard left. Present logical arguments for a different position and name calling is the predictable result. I never retaliate. I just point out that it's not a convincing argument.

@modestMillennial Of course, I make exception for folks in the IDW. That's sort of what holds the IDW together. I was speaking of run of the mill Democrats that I might run into. I suppose that the mane calling isn't a characteristic of the hard left. I suppose I should reserve that designation for those that resort to harassing me physically.

I didn't say Spencer was more dangerous..I think those videos are horrible. Not disagreeing. But it doesn't say much for Spencer if he isn't as bad as them. I don't know a whole lot about him, so perhaps you can help. Are you familiar with his beliefs - apart from those in the video?

@modestMillennial thank you. My previous response was to Slavey. But this helps. Yes, I don't need to see a lot more of this man.

No, that stuff is awful as well, I agree. But for better or worse, we live in a mixed world and somehow must make things work. The cat is out the bag. A white ethno-state might have fewer issues, but its attainment is pretty impossible without open violence. I am against uncontrolled and/or immigration, that's for sure. But I don't support the above extremes, whichever side they come from.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Five minutes of this shithead and I've had enough. Amazing that the two guys didn't jump at him and beat him to a pulp! I think that being part of this forum -- which is so very open and accepting -- we have double responsibility to sift out genuinely bad and harmful ideas. So, let's keep our minds open, but not so open as to let our brain fall out, as the saying goes.

He needs to change his name so I don't confuse Robert with a racist.
