I am new to this site and so first post.

I feel that here in the UK we have been softened up for years by the reporting of soft subjects. These have included but not limited to; a focus on womans issues and successes, a failure to report Muslim attacks throughout the world and a failure to seriously discuss the problems of Islam. I believe it is all an attempt to inflict a new world order with globalism the driving force. One extremely frightening example of this is happening here in the UK.

We have had massively biased reporting on Brexit from our MSM and now have a totally pro-remain press that are failing to report on pro- Brexit matters. For those of you not in the know re Brexit, it stands for Britain's exit from the EU. We were told that this was a once in a life time decision. I could explain much more but essentially these were the steps that led us here;

  1. A referendum stating that we would completely leave the EU and be independent to make our own laws, control immigration and make our own trade deals

  2. Article 50, the instrument used to notify of our withdrawal was made and an act of Parliament committed the UK to leaving on 29th March 2019, with or without a deal. The latter known as No Deal is in fact WTO rules made up of lots of mini-deals. This has become known as crashing out as part of the anti-Brexit propaganda. Theresa May's (Prime Minister), aka, Treason Mayhem's deal failed to get passed on three separate occasions and so we should have left on 29th March on WTO rules

  3. Continued promises, over 100 I believe, from our PM that we would leave with or without a deal on 29th March. As it happens, they passed an amendment to delay until 12th April o leave if the deal was not approve and 22nd May if it was approved.

Despite all of this, we are still not out. Whilst the referendum was only won by 52% / 48% in favour of leave, we have a first-past the post system and based on this over 400 of the MP's are from areas (constituencies) that voted to leave and 200'ish from remain constituencies. Unfortunately, however, over 70% of the MP's are for remain, hardly representative.

The current Parliament is in a total mess and democracy at present appears to have died. Legal and Parliamentary procedure are being flouted due the the large majority not wanting to deliver on the peoples vote and the subsequent legislation that they voted in. I am not exaggerating or being alarmist. At present, people are stating it is Parliament against the people.

The EU are an undemocratic, bureaucratic club looking for ever closer union and doing away with the nation state. I never thought I would see the political elite so arrogant as to ignore the will of the people and to overturn the decision. I won't go into what is currently happening as it is too complex but the upshot is that Parliament is doing everything in their power to prevent us leaving. This truly is a sad time for our nation and democracy.

Welcome. I never understood why the people agreed to the EU from the beginning. There's not a lot of news coverage following Brexit in the US (at least I've not seen it). I'm hoping they don't allow any kind of "deal" and you just leave. It IS afterall what the people voted to do. I hope other countries follow!

Thank you. It started off as a common trading area which wasn't a bad thing but it wants ever closer union. The Lisbon Treaty means that our taxes will one-day be set from Brussels where they sit. They are also planning to build an EU army. Germany is the richest country and Europe and Merkel is the major influence in the EU. They failed to control through arms and now they're doing it through finance and a slow creep toward dominance.

Sometimes you step out into something that looks solid and then find it's really quicksand

From an American (US) point of view some outside entity (The EU) telling us who to let into our country is so wrong that...

Anything you Brits do to escape the EU muck is not only reasonable to me but though I can't do much to help I'll certainly cheer you on

Sorry, my bad. Got caught up in soapboxing and forgot the first thing...

Welcome

Thank for your for the moral support. We are stunned and there is likely to be massive civil unrest. As ex-forced and ex Police I never thought I would hear myself say that I would support it.
