“Barr said in a four-page letter to Congress Sunday summarizing the Mueller report that his goal is to release as much of the full report as possible. But his schedule for doing so would depend on how quickly DOJ can scrub it for grand jury information “that by law cannot be made public,” he said.“

(I make note that Roll Call’s Headline Deceptively implicates the Republican motives for redaction is suspect, RATHER than acknowleging that Statute FORBIDS sharing Grand Jury material)

What's even more stupid is the grandstanding by politicians with "I DEMAND the release of the FULL Mueller report!" Go away with that garbage!

Barr said, during his confirmation hearings, that he'd notify the congress when the report had been delivered to him, which he did. After that, he would release as much to congress as possible, which he will.

As you point out, he CAN'T release grand jury stuff (which Mueller will have a say on what that includes) and he CAN'T release classified information (which the IG will have a say on what that includes). He will release what remains...

Now, when the grandstanding crew gets the report, with redaction that they KNOW will be redacted, they'll call FOUL!

"We didn't see the whole report!"
"The criminal stuff is in the redacted sections!"
Blah...
Blah..
Blah...

All the way to 2020...

I hate politicians...

Thanks for clarifying. I saw the spin but didn't know the nugget of truth underneath.

Typical spin. So sad.
