I just found out about 'sensitivity readers" who are SJWs working in the fictional publishing industry who get to essentially veto any book along the line it being deemed racist, sexist or one of the phobias.

However these are not even stopped through normal standard of these terms but through Social justice definition like a book promoting "white saviour" or a book set in another universe with slavery appropriating African American trauma or a book set with the backdrop of a real war where Muslim committed genocide not depicting them positively enough.

It is amazing how much of a bottle neck these people have over our culture.

The repayment cost risk of their SJW education is completely covered by the state. Grievance Studies degrees are at the core of their education. There are vastly more educated or indoctrinated in the dogmas of Grievance Studies than can find employment. It’s essentially a kind of religious degree in a very incomplete and simplistic ideology.

You see this with COVID-19 news coverage. The primary frame is grievance which often does not work well. But occasionally they get something that kind of works and a dog-pile of underpaid writers jump on that story and flood articles ensues.

It's all about equality. Our civilization has been sold out to a notion that has no correspondence to reality. Equality does not exist in nature. "We hold these truths to be self evident...that all men are created equal..."; it sounds good for a document to be laid at the feet of George III and certainly goes further than the Magna Carta, but whatever its validity, even then, it has deteriorated into "My opinion, My beliefs, My feelings and My agendas are EQUAL to yours regardless of my IQ, education or profession; even if you're a hard scientist and I'm a garbage collector. Granted, if you want to know everything there is to know about garbage collecting you start with the garbage collectors not the astrophysicists. But in no way are they EQUAL. And if your garbage starts piling up and stinking, you suddenly realize that the astrophysicist can't help you very much. Nor can the garbage collector do very much to help get your rocket to Mars.
The SJWs are afraid of heirarchy because it is anti-equality, and heirarchical structures allow for gradations of merit and ability and in such case there will be, God forbid, winners and losers! Horrors!

The Bible would
be banned under these commie cunts

it promotes heteronormativity, the gender binary and the patriarchy, however on the other hand it portrays neurodivergent characters as central figures and the main character is Asexual. Overall we cannot accept your work because there are not enough POC's. If you make god a woman, have a few more asian characters and show Mary enjoying her sexuality we might reconsider.

Want to see something really scary? Look at Google's, FaceBook and Twitter bias.

image a group of sjw's reading ever tweet and deeming if it is woke enough before it can be posted and you have the publishing industry today. i know these guys are bad but not even they have as much control as the sensitivity readers.

How can any book or thought not be offensive to some one, we live in loony tunes times jaja

Yes, no longer can writers write what we see, hear, feel, and know about our world. We have to make sure we have the appropriate number of unicorns, rainbows, ice cream cones, and super comfy couches or the trigglypuffs start to REEEEEEEEEEE!

I find this has appropriate pokemon culture and have deemed it insensitive. DO NOT PUBLISH.

A friend of mine walked away from the 3rd book in his 3 book deal because of this kind of crap. He wrote high fantasy fiction that was very good, and the publisher made good money off of his first 2 books - but he gave up and dragged his feet on the 3rd book because it was getting hammered back by the editors every time he turned around - so he went slower and slower and finally had discussion with his agent and he and the publisher parted ways (don't know what all he gave up to do so, I imagine rights on those other 2 works, etc)
SO, yes, this is definitely "a thing".

why are they turning down profit to adhere to this ideology. Can I ask what editorial advice were they giving? It seems books considered progressive a few years ago are now offensive.

@acthenpens Apparently, he really got pushed into writing in a female lead (which he had in an earlier book, but killed her off) so you wouldn't think that was all of it - they wanted a lgbt aspect, they wanted more race descriptives (and understand this is high fantasy so what difference regarding orc, goblins etc) on and on - even little stuff about how some of his writing style in telling the narrative with the lead guy talking to himself - it was little stuff, but it was relentless.

@Paisley_Pirate it's the lack of freedom to create that must be the frustration. It's not like they make suggestions to improve the experience for the reader but they micromanage language to control you work to fit into their ideology.

However it's something more than that, I write amatuer fiction online and with no direct prompting I decided to make my lead a POC, then I didn't want to make them black because I thought I'd get in trouble describing the hair. All the rules get so oppressive you can't think clearly enough to write because your second guessing yourself.

Say your friend puts in those racial orc description and someone decides they sound similar to black people then suddenly your tarnished as a racist.

@acthenpens Or the Dark Elves... but yeah... exactly. It was a true death by 1000 paper cuts...

They will all be fired when the profits start plummeting

Except for the publishers that are too stupid to survive

it is not only in publishing of fictional writings--it is in reporting of news, and in education, and even in board-rooms. It is also in deletion of books and magazines in Public and School Libraries and of posts or sites on the internet --many good ones are 404'd now, or "video has been removed."

your right. How do they do it in board rooms? do they have someone sitting in the room or is it like communism where there were so many informers people dared not speak truth.

@acthenpens Basically, Political Correctness is all that is allowed in many board-rooms.
Speak the Truth at personal and professional risk.

@MarPep I remember a story a year ago about the financial London forum, a group one would think would be obsessed with profit, fired a woman for racism and sexism because she remarked because of affirmative action one had to two women or 4 black people to perform the job one white man use to perform.

It is, and amazing how so many people out there actually take the sjw's seriously...

How many do take it seriously? When people actually bring it out in the open like with British politician David Lammy who accused a white person helping africans of being a white saviour he was commonly thought of as an idiot yet he won politician of the year at GQ magazine trying to be PC. It seems they only have power in the dark where no one but those in the inner circle exist. They are like cult leaders.
