Originally, 51% voted to leave the EU. Seems the Brits have changed their minds. Thoughts?

I do not like this woman or Theresa May

Nicola Sturgeon is happy to ignore the 85% of Scots who don't want a second independence referendum! She needs to start running her country properly instead of dreaming about how nice it would be to have all that power (and which castle she will requisition as her country residence, no doubt). The truth is that the Scots voted to stay in the UK and the UK voted to leave the EU. If the referendum result in England had been closer Scotland could have kept England in the EU against its will! Scotland is heavily subsidised by the UK ( the scottish govt spends 2 billion annually and only collects 1 billion from taxation) but as an independent country in the EU would have to be a net contributor, so by leaving the UK and staying in the EU Scotland would be a much poorer country. And why gain independence just to hand it over to the EU?

Since they voted to pass Article 13, now Brexit seems to completely sane thing to do.

Globalist leftists are sore losers and do not believe in democracy anyways. They are unwilling to accept the original vote and act like petulant children and the leftist media plays into their narrative. Theresa May is basically an incompetent traitor to the Brexit vote. The British should leave with no deeal and it will be interesting to see the pro Brexit counter demonstration.

You must be watching BBC. It's like here where people's actual thoughts can only be expressed at the ballot box...the Liberal hoards are only shown. Try Tommy Robinson for what the real narrative is #tommyrobinson

Tommy Robinson represents far more of the people than the MSM and ruling elite would dare to admit but the fact that he so vilified by them proves how threatened they feel

My thought is that if a vote passes, then it ought to go into effect.

52.5% voted leave, including myself. Various polls and studies have shown only a very small number have changed their position. The problem is that 75% of members of parliament are in favour of remaining in the EU. There are a couple of reasons I can see for this: MPs are far better off than the average person and therefore not adversely affected by the competition for jobs and housing posed by mass immigration and of course membership of the EU provides plenty of career opportunities for bureaucrats like them.
What is now happening is that Theresa May negotiated a terrible deal for us with the EU and many Brexit supporting MPs were not prepared to accept it because it is not really leaving. On the other hand opposition Labour party MPs would not support it because 1) they favour an even closer relationship with the EU than May's deal offers and 2) they are trying to bring the Conservative government down. On top of that many 'remoaner' MPs are seeing the opportunity to exploit the Brexit chaos to stop us leaving the EU altogether.

The Withdrawal Agreement was not "negotiated". It was mostly dictated by Brussels, and accepted by TM as a way to achieve BRINO. Leaving without a "deal", on WTO terms, would be the best course of action, but is not supported by the pro-EU parliament.

@pbuck0145 I agree that May's deal is not really leaving, WTO or Canada++ would be much better but as things are going now I doubt we'll leave at all now

I've changed my mind. I originally voted to remain but am now a fervent leaver!

We're out of "fatted calves" .... just now.

But I'll put you on the list ?

52% originally voted to leave and leave won by 1.3 million.
There was a sharp divide in voting patterns according to social class. Leave was an essentially working class vote, amongst social class D/E the vote was 64% to 36% for leave.
What we are now witnessing is the emergence of an entitled, elitist middle class movement working to overturn the vote, comprising people who are used to getting their own way. It is an anti-democratic movement aided by the fact that the political establishment are overwhelmingly 'Remainers'. Even the Labour party, originally formed to represent the poor and deprived, now has 77% of members drawn from the highest social classes ABC1. These people are well used to organising and lobbying, they control most of the media and know how to grab the headlines.
In short we are seeing the re-emergence of a 19th century divide. Britain is in a bad way - expect to see serious civil disorder in the next few months. I don't think this is going to end well.

Elitism is ugly and disgusting.

The polls prior to the Brexit vote showed a majority in favor of the "remain" option. The polls have a history of being inaccurate.

And the msm report what fits their narrative

4

No re-votes. The people have spoken

3

It’s the people in London and the younger crowd working this up. I think if the vote happened again they would lose again. Well I hope anyway. This whole saga has gone on for far to long

Kinda like Trump/Russia Collusion. .

4

Interestingly, some who were remainers, have since changed their perspective after the dog and pony show.

6

I am skeptical. It is difficult to believe that the majority of Brits would wish to remain under the dictatorship of the unelected European Commission. Two world wars have demonstrated that the British people will reject subjugation.
The MSM are leftist supporters of globalism, and promote this fallacy. I believe that freedom will prevail.

These things are best resolved quickly.
