Level 6

We are living in a largely narcissistic society where being affirmed is more valued than having an opinion. Everyone seems to have the need to be "right" and extraordinary and it seems that a self-promoting society tends to dissolve community or civil dialogue.

They can't handle the truth! 😉

That's usually my opinion as well. If I am shown the truth I change because of it. I don't deny it . To deny truth is just blatantly stupid.

Is it a kind of Hedonism we're having in the Western countries and other developed countries? Pleasure is the only good and pain (that includes harsh reality and truth, I guess) is the only evil. If so, I don't know why that is.

Because it displays the other person's misunderstanding or ignorance which then evokes the Eackfire Effect.

People hate the TRUTH nowadays! They'd rather be lied to. Just my humble opinion but the Fake News outlets show that's the way they think...
