Has anyone else read the comments on the IDW Facebook posts? So much hate and vitriol against the community. It's startling and a bit unsettling.

It is expected. Anyone being awake is a threat to those half sleep! It is the herd mentality and can be intimidating but then you can see threw their tough/angry exterior and find a frightened group of sheeple...

I've experience something similar myself. After my civil criticism of a public figure on Facebook (that Facebook to its credit said did not violate community standards after the mob attacked it) was forced offline by a court and a threat of a year in jail, it took UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh's help to get my state's "cyberstalking" law knocked down in order to share my civil criticism without going to jail. But after the court victories, the death threats started and the mob was successful in getting my Twitter page taken down for apparently seeming like it was automated (or so I'm told). So I found Gab as an alternative...

Now the fact that I have a Gab account is used by guilt of association to paint me as crazy by the same people who have been trying to silence my social media.

These people want to silence us by any means necessary. It's as simple as that. Those interested can read about my long and deadly-serious struggle for free speech just down the road from Evergreen State at [StopClarenceMoriwaki.com]

Wow. I had no idea it was getting that bad yet.

Nor did I until it happened. What I am experiencing is an American FATWA but hopefully our situation gets some exposure to prevent the story from becoming truly interesting. The website's "media" page has a great deal of documentation and claims are cited and sourced for those interested.

That was so many shades of wrong, but sadly am not surprised. Stay strong, stay safe and thank you for your service, defending the rights almost denied you.

@purdyday thank you sir!

@WingedRyno its ma'am, but as an animus influenced woman, I totally understand, lol

@purdyday my apologies! Thank you ma'am!

Don't you realise that alternative views to the leftist orthodoxy are strictly forbidden?

I once heard an SJW openly (and she thought, reasonably) say, "If you don't agree with me on the points I'm making, then we can't even have this conversation!"

Then she says that she advocates tolerance. The irony is palpable.

Thought crime isn't just for sci-fi novels any more.

In short, "No!." I have not read anything negative about the IDW. I think it's because I have a small friends list (still under 100) of people I actually know IRL. I tried a few friends of friends connections, and none of them worked out.

I tried to find some negative stuff about the IDW, and didn't find much.

I figure the main stream is vehemently against any alternate platforms, and will attempt to prevent alternate platforms, then take alternate platforms down when they got big.

I think Fox News has taken a sharp leftward turn recently, and this is due to management changes. Many supposedly neutral platforms and news sources aren't actually neutral, and some which purport to be conservative actually slip in Leftist propaganda from time to time.

I am continually on the lookout for reliable news sources and venues to enjoy conversations. It's a jungle out there.

The negative is out there. Just saw a new sponsored post for IDW last night. Literally every comment was negative. Leftist trolls attacking.

i can't believe that yall are using facebook as a forum for this type of discussions. hell, this discussion forum cured me of facebook. i can like yall based on how yall think, what yall think, how you argue and what you argue about. not that you threw up a deviant meme that i can use to offend half my family using facebook and start cutting and scarring relationships that i am trying to heal and maintain through pursed lips and gentle queries. i get more grief from my right leaning friends than my left. i can get a left to say, oh really hmm. my rights if i point against them it is cold shoulders and rumors

It's the sponsored posts for the community. Not a group or a page. And I think you are on to something. Without a common middle ground the polarization is becoming extreme. Before we could argue and debate and disagree but we were still all civil at the end of the day. That basic civility has been torn down and now there is no middle to meet in. The leftists you refer to are the ones being driven toward the center by the extremist zealots calling themselves progressive. The right is doing the same thing just from a different angle.

@LeftySinister yeah. The thing is that commin middle ground is only something that can be discovered between two people. I just had a little debate on a similar subject talkkng about tribal id and universal value. "We need a common middle ground". It is an impossible idea beyond two. The sphere of influence becomes to variegated. Common middle grounds are something that we discover in our opponents by challenging them by running the ground magnet around their moral compass and seeing where their compass reads the same as mine.

@CuriousFury I don't know. Common ground used to be culture. We could say or believe what we wanted and agree or disagree but at the end of the day we were still Americans or Australians orcCanadians or whatever. That's what I think Peterson el al are talking about on some level. The common ground had a chasm opened up beneath it and that void between people has only grown. I think that true human evolution is being part of a culture yet respecting the different ones around you. That's real globalism. Gurdjieff said one of the main questions he was asked was if war could be stopped. "Of course war could be stopped. If everyone woke up tomorrow it would end war. People would see it for what it is. But people are asleep so things carry on as they are." This I think is the true heart of the division: people are unconscious machines. There can be no peace or understanding among them.

@LeftySinister that is why it has to be footwork and patience. Center mast, branching to my lean. Heart to heart mind to mind, not jumping to the far sides to change radicals, but to the guy in yoir friend circle that is slightly leaning on a point or two and asking them to opent heart and mind, and try to suspend the emotional outburst programming that is used to divide and conquer

I never pay attention to most of that kind of nagative stuff. Why bother attention is what they what.

I’ve noticed that too. Rogan gets a lot of hate... I think people fear what they don’t understand.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that! Rogan is a guy with an open mind. He's very accommodating.

I haven’t seen the comments, but I am not surprised since leftists have been calling for actual violence against perceived “microaggressions” for quite some time now. These days, wearing a MAGA hat can be dangerous and put your physical safety at risk.

Leftists are not only acting on these threats, but believe they are justified in physically assaulting anyone who disagrees with them because, well - “tolerance”.

while the right will just threaten you and call the police if you point out their broken logic in public

5

I haven't but am not surprised to hear about hate from the radical left. They have become a mob and that's exactly why we need websites like this.

I agree. But it seems the mob is one step away from violent action.

@LeftySinister

No longer one step away... they already are.

@DeplorableMe ,yes antifa jumped to my mind first

@Naomimi

I was thinking more along the lines of this nut job..

[wbko.com]

@DeplorableMe , wow, nut job indeed.

No I haven't seen those responses myself, but I am not surprised. The hate and vitriol towards anybody who wants to discuss issues with less than an extreme leftist bent is common.

That is the very reason I decided to look into this site ... because it claimed to promote civil discourse, and so far that has been my experience here. I would hope that more people who are tired of the backbiting and name-calling would find this site or create more like it

There are nasty comments about this site posted all over Reddit and Twitter as well.

Which IDW FB groups are you referring to?

Not a group. Comment thread on sponsored posts.

Hate and intolerance is the common denominator amongst the ignorant. The default response is to spew it, regardless of how it perfectly defines one’s character.

Yes. But some of the comments were calling for outright violence. "Can we lock them all in a building and set it on fire?" Was one.

@LeftySinister Sometimes, I attribute that over the top, keyboard warrior mentality to the fact that none of those who run their mouths, to that extent, have ever seen so much as an ounce of physical violence, in their entire miserable existence, let alone handed out an ass whoopin of any kind. They’ve never gotten a hard physical checking either, which also teaches a valuable lesson. It’s super easy to talk a big game from the safety of your living room sofa.

I haven't seen it . Haven't gotten anything negative on my posts . I suspect that Facebook would create bot profiles to troll targeted users .
