Well, the vermin will be pouring over Trump's tax returns looking for any crime

It will be hard to find anything because... Wait for it... Wealthy people are scrutinized with an extra measure

Routinely... Fact of life

Doesn’t he also have a layer of protection in that he uses professionals to file those returns?

So falsely putting members of the Trump Campaign under surveillance via FISA is a crime in and of itself. So how can any of this stand up in a court of law if the initial pretense was illegal?

Money laundering and mob ties along with his taxes are the obvious next things. All of which have been referenced here by different sources when they speak about crime Trump may be guilty of. The emoluments clause is another top prospect as well.

The "investigation" wasn't designed to uncover Trump campaign collusion wirh Russia. It was designed to curry favor with the predicted incoming president, Hillary Clinton. It was a tissue of lies allowing US government intelligence agencies to comprehensively penetrate the Trump campaign and report any dirt to the Clinton campaign and it allies. They never expected any of this to see the light of day.

Since Trump won, however, it's been a massive bureaucratic coverup. As long as Mueller continues, they can continue obfuscating.

I agree completely and would go one further: Subsequent to the election of Trump, instead of accepting that they lost, they've doubled down. Not just the Democrats but the bureaucrats and media too.

It amounts to a failed attempt at a coup d'etat against a duly elected president.

I think if you consider what the investigation actually is, the answer becomes clear. Usually an investigation starts with a crime, and the purpose is to figure out who is guilty. In this case, we started with a person, and the investigation’s purpose is to find something that he is guilty of. Why would that end before Trump leaves office? The purpose is to make him unelectable in 2020.

What's next is the Republicans starting to wheel out their investigation into Peter Smith, dodgy FISA warrants, emails, Loretta Lynch blocking investigations into Hillary, FBI bias and why Seth Rich had to go away.
All timed to align with the 2020 run-up

That would be fantastic... if so expect an rash of “suicides”

There won’t ever be an end. Trump could have sunshine and unicorns emerging from his arse and these fools would hunt for more irrelevant BS.

Who is ranch girl and what is the reference? I get the rest.

Gillibrand had a campaign thing at a restaurant and it got interupted by a girl on her way to get some ranch.

@mikeallen thanks. Missed that one.

As Rosanna Rosannadanna might have said, "If it's not one thing, it's something else".
Those on the left will never accept that they have no one but themselves to blame for Donald Trump.

4

I expect them to really ramp up on tax returns/evasion and rooting out/creating any speck of “corruption” imaginable

5

They will just move on to the next distraction. That is all this is, it started out as a way to prevent his election then his taking office and then removal. Now it is nothing more than a distraction from the progress we are making as a nation and world.
