As I understand it, they can already track our phones' IMEI by triangulation through proximate WiFi modems, and your phone's WiFi doesn't even need to be on for them to do this.

LMAO, not me. We refuse to get cell phones. 95% of the time it has not bothered us. The 5% isn't worth it.

@toronto_Georgia if you do not register your real name into your new phone, they would have no idea who you are, so that works. I've uninstalled Chrome and deactivated Google in mine.

True. But think about those tiny devices attached, perhaps to someone's car to know exactly where they were at all times.
