I don't believe in God, but in greater organism. Just as numerous microorganisms are part of us, we're part of that greater organism.
Yet again, I'm very spiritual. But I AM spiritual while I'm alive. What happens, when I (we) die? Who knows. Just ANY scenario is possible ....from waking up from bad dream, to completely seizing to exist, together with my spirituality. It's not meant for us to have insight in that. Otherwise, think what could happen if we know for sure, there's another form of life after this one. How many ppl would kill themselves instantly, in order to transcend to that other life? Some things are better to stay riddles.
No fear of death here. I don't care much for leaving this place, even if we're going to nothingness.
So in my case, no... I'm not building any kind of construct for eternity. I'm just fine with not knowing

No, they are possible ways of eventually maybe overcoming death. I cannot speak for everyone, but as an agnostic/atheist myself I have no fear of death. It would be interesting if a way was discovered/invented to prolong death by many years or beat it altogether, but aside from that I'm at peace knowing my existence will cease to be some day. So for the most part, it's about curiosity and not fear, curiosity about what life on this planet would be like once I am long gone and no longer able to experience it anymore.

Its likely a myth they are able to buy into it
