Ted talks are great. AI would have more intelligence than all the members of DC combined. Problem is AI can't be bought or intimidated. Today, there is no reason why technology could not create a democratic vice representative form of government. Democratic processes of voting and polling the masses was historically slow and cumbersome - but technology could alleviate those issues relatively easily.

Would be great in a perfect world but unfortunately a lot of political decisions are based on classified information that the public don't have access to. It could definitely work for a lot of the community decisions etc but we’d always need humans dealing with the tricky stuff.

Is this a joke? Cuz human supervision will always be needed to make sure computers don't spit out dumb or bad output at edge cases. Ask any programmer who has to make a consumer-input driven choice tree

Given the power of marketing, direct democracy is hopelessly prey to opportunism. Just try to get your kids to not like disney or eat vegan instead of mcdonalds

They cover the supervision issues in the video

Now there's an idea...
