White privilege. Does it exist? If so, how do we address it?
White privilege does not exist. Cultural privilege, however, does. Do not confuse culture with race. Say we have two families of the same race. One has both parents, extended family, core values (places importance on ideas and principles over events, or people), a presence/investment in the community, perhaps a church family. The other has a single parent, loose family ties, a lack of values (tends to care more about events or people rather than ideas or principles) and no presence/investment in their community. A child from the first family has been afforded a lot of privilege and a head start by their culture. The second has a lot of things to overcome, mostly applied to them by their accepted culture but that is not to say that they are not easily overcome with the right attitude. Accepting that culture creates your own disadvantages. I grew up as the second child (single mother, half siblings, government subsidized housing, etc...) . I had a schoolmate (son of a Dr., two parents, values, investments, etc...) who grew up as the first. He is now in prison and I own a house in his old neighborhood. Mainly because we ended up embracing each other's source culture.
My life
I agree, those people who bring up those studies having to do with those with black sounding names and impressive resumes would be rejected far more times than those with white sounding names as well as the studies showing that blacks who commit the same crimes as whites with identical wrap-sheets tend to get convicted far more and sentenced to far harsher sentences aren't really on to anything at all. That's not white privilege, that's just what I call 'tough luck, black people;'
I think the real question is...what about the asians though ??
White privilege is a myth that the radical left want us to believe. However, as a minority I don't believe it. There are lot of people debunking it, but who better than "people of color" themselves demantling it. Please listen to them:

Thanks for posting! Powerful stuff!
As a man who was born into a wealthy white family and had everything I ever needed pay for, I can still confidently say that there is no such thing as white privilege because have you seen either the new Star Wars movies or the Ghostbusters remake? White men are just a dying breed in Hollywood. On top of that only something like 95% of politicians these days are white males, I remember when it was like 98. I miss those days.
Yea, I remember being born to a black family which got free food, housing and Medicaid cause dad knocked up mom and ran off. Mom just kept having more kids for the checks. I remember doing the 40 yard dash in 4.2 seconds and winning a scholarship to college for track. My brother could stuff a basket easily and got a b-ball scholarship. Sis got free college for being poor and black. In my company, I get promoted over whites and Asians because the bean counters demand it in order to avoid having me sue them. When I cry racism, people jump to attention and fear me. Oh, wait I am white, raised by 2 poor working stiffs, I did a 5.0 40 yard dash, got no scholarships, checks or preferences. I get passed over for promotions by women, blacks, Hispanics, gays and transgenders. My white privilege really served me well.
Doesn't exist. Racists come from many different ethnic and social backgrounds.
