If you don't think you've been indoctrinated, you have. If you know you were indoctrinated, you no longer are... Madric
Very similar to the quote (forgive me because I do not know the exact words) a person who thinks they know it all is most likely ignorant, whereas a person who admits their ignorance and is first to point out the areas where they lack knowledge, is most likely an intelligent person...... Again, forgive the wording there and the obvious lack of poetic quality
"It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance"
I just realized that Thomas Sowell can state a point much better than I can. What a shock huh...??
I have so much respect for Thomas Sowell, although it seems he's not a IDW member. Should we create a fan group for him?
@Naomimi he most definitely should! Maybe some post humus fan sites for Christopher Hitchens, Murray Rothbard, Milton Friedman, William F Buckley, Friedrich Hayek, Margaret Thatcher.. I’m sure there are many more escaping me at the moment but those would be a good start, we could compile their old interviews and debates there.
@DylanMc29 lol, he puts things better than I can as well. Your post just reminded me of this quote because it’s one of my favorites.
I'm fairly new to Thomas Sowell to be honest. I started my enlightenment (for lack of a better word) on the far left and have since regressed to something close to center. So people like Shapiro, Crowder and Sowell have only recently been on my radar. But I enjoy the videos I have watched on Sowell and look forward to learning more from him. Feel free to drop a recommendation for a fairly new Thomas Sowell fan.
@DylanMc29 I’d definitely recommend picking up his new book “Discrimination and Disparities” and watching his old interviews on youtube, you’ll find he was debating many of the issues we see as “new” decades ago.
Thanks. I will look it up on audible. And I suppose things always come back in style, whether it's shoes, music, or intellectual arguments.
