Vatican Says Catholic Church Cannot Bless Same-Sex Marriages

[npr.org]

Frankly, I'm surprised that Pope Francis took the Biblical and traditional stand on this issue.

Not out of virtue but out of shrewdness. Once the Globalists take power, there will be no room for LGBT activism anyway, just as there is none in China or Venezuela or Cuba, etc., so might as well - Francis probably thinks - start reining them in this early. Plus, bessing same sex marriage would also stun millions of Catholics and likely start an exodus from the Catholic church.

Yes, I was very surprised to see that.

If Francis goes completely against the teaching of the Church he will reveal his true intentions. They will use the Church as a tool to help bring in their new world order. Then they can attempt to destroy the Church from within.

With all due respect to individual Catholics, there was no scriptural church to begin with in the RCC. The church was born in Acts 2. The Roman Catholic church over 3 centuries later, with unregenerate leadership claiming to be the true Church and final ecclesiastical authority, as it wanted to take advantage of the admirable virtues of Christians and seemingly unstoppable growth of the movement in spite of severe persecution. That's why you see a lot of unscriptural traditions and doctrines in the RCC.

I myself was a Catholic in my youth and a sometime altar boy. I moved out of it in my teens, having learned the differences from their traditions and teachings from that in the bible. One example would be the insertion of Easter from the feast of the pagan goddess Ishtar. Even the date of the Resurrection has been moved so it will not coincide - even by accident - with the Jewish feast of the firstfruits, which was when the Resurrection occurred. And that's just one example of many.

@Stratslinger the RCC is a member of the WCC, so no surprise there. My take is, any ecclesiastical grouping - down to the bible teacher - is suspect in these Eschatological times. We must "test every spirit" in each one, which means we must draw closer to Christ by moving out of illiteracy of the bible. Let's all be like the Bereans and check every teaching against God's written word. Some erroneous teachings are very subtle and hard to detect.

@eschatologyguy We know exactly when the death and resurrection of Jesus occurred based on historical accounts and the solar eclipse that took place while Jesus hung on the cross. I don't see how moving feasts can be relevant as to whether the Catholic Church is the one true Church. The birthday of the Church is the day the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles. There has been a direct line of popes ever since. Some good, some bad and not without controversy. Jesus never intended man to discern for himself what Christianity should entail. He established the Catholic Church until the end of time. What about the Bible? We have that right? Yes. The Catholic Church codified what books that make up the Bible in the fourth century.

@Marcoullier it was on the 14th of Nissan. The Resurrection on the 17th of Nissan, which also happened to be the feast of the Firstfruits. Coincidence? I think not, because of its symbolical significance: the Resurrected Lord is become the first fruit of those who will also be Resurrected in Him.
