Are you old enough to remember these things happening back then? Are these photos telling the truth? I'm not here to judge, hell no! I am almost too overwhelmed for words. It's surreal.
On June 18, 1964, Black and white protestors jumped into the whites-only pool at the Monson Motor Lodge in St. Augustine, Florida. In an attempt to force them out, hotel owner James Brock dumped acid into the water. One protestor recalled, "All of the news media were there, because somehow I guess they'd gotten word that something was going to happen at that pool that day. And I think that's when President Johnson got the message." The Civil Rights Act was passed the next day.

In one of those photos, a man is holding a placard that says "Forced integration creates racial hatred." You know, it's still relevant today. Amazing.
@Naomi Forced anything leads to someone hating someone else, the trick is not doing the right thing for the wrong reason which most often leads to future resentments, instead it's always best to do the right thing for the right reason and hope you guessed right.
