Wokeness does not care about efficiency, merit or doing things that actually work. Double masking was a failed attempt at a new virtue signaling vector, a new tool for emotional hostage taking. It has no efficacy and its wasteful. Double masking is emotionally helpful to those who value safety over freedom, which is most of the common cud chewing masses.
