Choosing what to believe and not believe according to your personal preferences is very satisfying. The trouble is reality will eventually come up behind you and kick you in the ass. If you look behind you you can see the devastation of our misunderstanding of how things work in nature. Our long view goes only to our next dollar gained but not how that next dollar is generated.

Example?

I can choose to believe there is a deep state involved in a vast conspiracy to push a liberal agenda to destroy any vestige of conservatism and make the U.S. a Communist state where we can eat babies and breed children for pedophilia and practice satanic rituals in dark basements where we conjure up devils to give us personal power.

I don't need any evidence for this because I am sure that is what is going on. Does that make it true?
