Believing either alternative is an act of "faith". Observation and verifiable evidence leads to rational definitions for both.

Both and neither.
One can be quite odd and be "moral". One can seems very "normal" and be utterly immoral.
But the general sense of "normalcy" stems from the shared understanding of moral (i.e good) behavior.
