I'm not trivialising the pandemic or the US election, but the Armenian–Azerbaijani conflict (escalating into war now, again) has hardly been reported by MSM in the UK. And it is always, always, ordinary civilians who get caught in the middle of political power struggle.

This is the norm now, if it don't fit what the agenda they won't show us

It appears from this news report, this has become another proxy war. So sad once more for those who are caught in the middle.

I don't watch typical corporate news media, but my daily scans of the headlines suggests the story is getting at least an update per day. I haven't paid much attention though. I tend to ignore conflicts around borders, tribes, ethnic splits, etc. Those seem to be the human norm, and too complex for an outsider to understand well enough to figure out justifications.

That's how they want us to respond. The world would be better served if we all made an effort to interrogate the history, demographics, regional powers, and natural resources at play in conflicts like this. Because while they may be obfuscated, decisions are being made in our name, that affect us, and that we have the right to influence.

Yes, we should better engage, but the truth is I don't know much about most of the hundreds or thousands of cultural conflicts around the world, nor do I have much authority over the powers and principalities playing around the globe. What can I say? Current year says that history is a tool of the patriarchy and the west. And it's a construct of power to uphold oppression. And it's too complicated for anyone to understand because we can never look at reality through almost 8 billion current lived experiences.

See? If I accept the narrative that I'm usually fed, I'm left saying "Fuck it, it's the systems of power and oppression; nothing can be done but revolution." Well, here we are, revolting.
