DJT is making a valiant attempt to do so. Every decision he makes, regardless of merit, is vehemently opposed by the power-hungry Democrats.
She never assaulted or sexually harassed 8 of her Democratic aides and interns, nor gotten creepy with multiple girls below the age of 15 and had it captured on camera. She never stood with Jesse Helms on segregation. She never called in a drone strike on civilians or worked for someone who did.
Had she been unethical and went with the Muh Russia BS she would have gotten the Democratic nomination but she had some standards and you can't have that in the Democratic party and you CERTAINLY cannot believe in free speech or civil liberties.
You're allowed to be a serial rapist...if you're Democrat. You're allowed to say you hate Wall St. while secretly modeling your own stock portfolio like you worked at Charles Schwab... if you're a Democrat. You're allowed to have a racist past...if you're a Democrat. You're allowed to change your mind on open borders...if you're a Democrat.
The only thing you're NOT allowed to do is say "can we stop wasting America's taxes on this and actually do some work?"
She's just another leftie loon!
More classical liberal than leftist.
@pbuck0145 From Gabbard's website:
I say yes to those questions, and am wholly committed to abortion remaining safe, legal and rare. We must commit to defending a woman’s right to choose.
Not dishonest. Not false. Check out her website.
@Tycho Where everyone who works is covered? Gasp how horrible.
@ThomasinaPaine Didn't Gabbard raise her hand to the question of giving illegals health care? "Tulsi-care" will be as crappy as Obama-care... A bloated, inefficient govt. bureaucracy gobbling up dollars for pennies worth of care. Of course politicians will be exempt.
@Tycho You can read on her old website. We already give illegals care through our emergency rooms and hospitals don't eat the cost, you're paying for it.
There are an estimate 11 million illegals. There is this thing when you work in Washington is that you accept the "invisible economy". Right after the 2008 crash they realized that the only thing keeping the US afloat was a 2 TRILLION dollar invisible economy of which illegals represent a big portion of it.
There's ideology and practicality. They won't get deported because it will collapse state economies. So the best you can do is patch it, then a better patch, and a better patch.
@ThomasinaPaine Yes, we do provide emergency care when needed. But that's not the same as providing health care plans to illegals. Such plans would only serve as another magnet to lure them here.
And there's probably more like 25 million illegals here. There's a number of forms of "invisible" economy. People working under the table, etc. I'm not sure what that has to do with taxing people in the "open" economy to pay for those who don't belong here and broke the law... and continue to break the law by being here illegally.
I don't know why ideology must be separated from practicality. It's the law. Ands it not practical to allow or encourage low wage, low skilled labor to suck up our jobs and tax me for the "privilege."
People used to come here for freedom. Now they come for free stuff. Gabbard wants to give more free stuff... That I have to pay for with my income.
And I'll add that I don't want the govt. to continue growing and usurping more authority... That I'll have to pay for with my liberty.
Despite being on the Right, I kinda liked her - she certainly would have been competitive in the National.
Considering the rest of the DEM field, (if there was NO REPS) I would consider her for sure!!
