I have had more than one lawmaker tell me that it is the lobbyist and their staff that write the bills that are voted on. This is not new. About a hundred years ago, all bills were read out loud prior to legislators voting on them. This was done because many legislators could not read. That dosen't mean they were stupid. The restrictions requiring how a bill is written are so great now that few have the skill to write a bill that could be presented for a vote. What would happen if all bills had to be written on a single page (in plain language) and address only one topic. And read out loud before a vote.

You assume that the USA would win any war. I don't believe that to be an absolute truth. The USA united after Pearl Harbor and we defeated two enemies on two fronts in less than 5 years. In the 1960's we were not united and lost a war to North Vietnam over a What? a 20 year period! If we are going to get into any war, we need to fight it like we did in the 1940's. If we don't we are going to have more Vietnams and Afghanistans. This country is not the country of my father (A WW II vet, a purple heart, 2 bronze and a silver star). He enlisted when he was to old to be drafted. I'm not sure we have enough men like that, of military age, to win a real war. Hell, we have trouble even identifying who are our current enemies.

I find all of this interesting. It appears that many people today think this is something that has started in, say the last twenty years or so. WRONG, this type of education has been going on since the early sixties, from my personal experience. I've been told my "right wing" thinking was wrong, since about the ninth grade (1962/63). (Marines know what I mean). The longer we allow the muslims to carry out their religious directive, the more people die on both sides. And, yes it will come down to a fight. If the USA does not start raising young men that understand what is coming and preparing them for it, WE LOSE THE NEXT TIME!!!!!!!
