Why are posts in the "Free Speech Absolutists" group being wantonly censored?

Big words for the small minds of the New York Times. Ah, to have a society that was interested in real issues again... I'd love to explore some other externalities: - Consider Google or Facebook in China. China wants a product that will monitor its serfs/slaves. Both companies, driven by a profit motive should pursue such a large market. - Goldman Sachs investing in South Africa. Pursue profit over land rights?

Gun control and the politics of fear- [bearingarms.com]
RobBlair comments on Aug 21, 2019:
A possible response would be a two panel commercial - on the one side show a teacher cowering with her class of 1st graders in the corner as a gunman is heard in the hallway. In the other panel show a teacher grabbing her gun from a safe attached to her desk. She's fearful but not defenseless. "Let's stop pretending and let's do whats right for our children and those who love them" It's important for the adults in the room to understand the statistics, but no one votes for statistics.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." In order for this to be applied there has to be an expectation of privacy. None of us should have any expectation of privacy for information we willingly share on social media. If the FBI want to develop a bot to comb through social media, fine. Requiring social media companies to provide it is another thing. I do want actual threats made against people on Twitter, etc... to be prosecuted.

Contrary to liberal myth, its the well off and well educated Muslim who commits himself to the zeal of his faith. This is not because they are radical but because they have read what Mohammad said and follow his word. Of course Mohammad's words are radical and have laid to waste millions of lives. The promised peace of Islam will only be had once everyone is turned to bones being bleached under the desert sun. Education regarding the teachings of this religion and men being men is all that stands against it.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." The Proud Boys marched into Portland, had their speech and then left. Antifa agitated, targeted civilians with violence and caused their typical mayhem long after the PBs left. The Portland Mayor then lied about the violence. The PBs vow to repeat this process until Portland gets rid of Antifa. The complete loss of liberal thought on the left is truly disturbing. Going from the ACLU's defense of nazis in Skokie 1978 to being complicit with this authoritarian hate group (antifa might as well be the nazis in this case) is quite the fall.

Free speech costs some effort. Take this post as an example - https://idw.community/post/49221/how-christianity-was-created-1-demonize-the-hebrews-and-make-everything-jesus-actual-blood-brothe?cid=1120340 From the previous post I knew this is someone who will not engage is reasoned arguments but, in my mind, the post needed a response. Is he a troll? I don't know yet, but I do know that a good response (in my mind) is there if others care to read it. The correct response to bad speech is better speech. As for chaos, people can be blocked. It leaves a blind spot, but for some it is appropriate. When a group moderator is trolling and then uses their position to block comments, I think the correct response is to leave the group. If someone is engaging appropriately I don't care to pile on. But if I see bad behavior I think its good as a community to register discontent.

Demonize the Hebrews - No. Neither the Messianic Jews nor other people at my church with Jewish heritage get demonized. Further, in keeping with Judeo-Christian doctrine, it is recognized that everyone is created in God's image (imago dei) and worthy of respect. 2. Create an ambiguous Boogieman - I'm assuming you are referring to Satan. 3. "Use Jesus as a martyr ... then trap them ..." No, I have no doubt that their are numerous people on this site that can testify that they were not "trapped." 4. Massacring machine - Jesus Christ is asked what the greatest commandment is - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Mat. 22:37... (part). Christians have been participants in massacres but not because they are following Christ. The idea that we are going to sift through the histories and properly categorize past actions and then sit in judgement over those who came before us is hubris. We should work to build on the foundation we have been given and not on unearthing where we stand.

"Immigration judges are Department of Justice employees who are tasked with deciding who can stay in the country legally and who should be deported." - https://ktiv.com/2019/08/12/justice-department-challenges-immigration-judges-union/ Here are the federal employees rejecting a policy proposal, collectively https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-immigration-judges/head-of-u-s-immigration-judges-union-denounces-trump-quota-plan-idUSKCN1M12LZ This can be fixed by removing the name "judge" from their title and replacing it with "officer." Judges are in the judicial branch and are separate from the Executive branch on purpose. They get last word. Immigration enforcement is given to the Executive branch and they get first word. If their first words are "you are not allowed in this country." then that is it. They have no standing as an immigrant or citizen. As for unionizing, I don't think any civil servant should be allowed to collectively bargain. https://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2019/08/11/trump-administration-seeks-decertify-immigration-judges-union/

Just listened to Shapiro's hour 3 from yesterday. He had Mohamed Aly El-Erian from Allianz on to talk about the current market situation. Talked briefly on the trade war but didn't see that as the primary cause of this current weakness. From what's happening in Hong Kong, a last desperate gasp for freedom, I don't necessarily see the collapse of the Chinese economy as a bad thing.
If Jesus was Jewish and taught the TaNaKh , why are we not Jewish?
RobBlair comments on Aug 13, 2019:
"So why not be Jewish?" Original contract - Deuteronomy 28:1, 2, 15 (ESV) “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God... “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. New contract coming - Jeremiah 31:31-33 (partial) NIV “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah... “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." New contract is elevated above national (and other) distinctions - Galatians 3:26-9 NIV So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. "So why not be followers of the law?" If God is good and he loves us, why would we not want to follow His instructions? At the same time, why stand condemned under the original contract when we can go direct? Another way to look at it - We can have a business relationship with God, or we can have a father-child relationship with Him. Psalm 51:16, 7 (NIV) You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. 1 Chronicles 22:10 He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.

Trump calls the 10s of thousands of aliens crossing the border illegally, an invasion. This language was mimicked by the armed White Supremacist terrorist who went on a murder binge in El Paso. Here are the differences that I noticed: - AOC and cronies refuse to condemn the Antifa attack, but have no problems declaring Trump "directly responsible" for El Paso.Trump condemned both terrorist incidences - "Today's shooting in ElPaso, Texas, was not only tragic, it was an act of cowardice. I know that I stand with everyone in this Country to condemn today's hateful act. Yes, just two good people should be enough to give credence to the president's statement. But, has anyone checked the veracity of her statement (WSJ?) Gavin McInnes recognized the "Unite the Right" rally as a white supremacist demonstration and pulled the "Proud Boys" from supporting the event. Of course Trump continues to denounce racism which a lot of media continues to ignore. And to that I just post a montage of Trump denouncing evil racism in all its forms.
Is the homeless "epidemic" getting better or worse?
RobBlair comments on Aug 10, 2019:
Homelessness is not an epidemic. It is a local problem that highlights the failure of local governments - https://endhomelessness.org/homelessness-in-america/homelessness-statistics/state-of-homelessness-report/ Utah learned that housing alone is not enough. The Descent Into Cruelty | Current Affairs
RobBlair comments on Aug 9, 2019:
Important stories that we need to hear. I've stated it several times that this country can't afford to have an underclass hiding in the shadows. Our immigration system must be corrected. People who are here illegally need to leave. Seems cruel but why? Is their country so much worse than ours? Then that is also a call to action. Encouraging people to break the law here is wrong and hurts those who do follow the law. Not OK. As for the homeless, yes we have a problem. Letting them destroy downtown neighborhoods is not the answer. People need homes. Letting them fester in squalor is not good for them or anyone. As for criminals, yes put them in jail. They have failed the social contract. Not having laws or corrections will put us into anarchy where only power matters. There are charities and programs for the homeless that need you. When my son gets older I'm hoping to get back into "Good Works" (repair/renovate urban houses). There are programs for going into central american countries to help, try one (it was very rewarding for me). My church has a prison ministry. If you care, go talk to these lost people. You've made the call, now answer it.

A case of willful ignorance. IQ and IQ testing has been around for more than 100 years. There is a clear correlation between IQ and "success." The fact that people still want to believe in this equality of outcome perspective leads me to believe that people are incorrectly tying value and self worth to intelligence. In a system where power is the highest value, then a higher intelligence would increase a person's value. This is anathema to the base of Western Culture which requires that individuals be held equally valuable under the law and under our Creator. Only then can we appreciate instead of covet the gifts that we all bring into our communities.

The world would be safer if everyone at my church carried a gun. And yet the leadership at my church still attaches a stigma to carrying a weapon. Let them bury their dead and then start a go-fund me. Every grandparent in El Paso (and Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore,...) should have a gun.

That's not good. We need to be a little more long sighted about giving power into one person's hand. We also need to find a way to get congress to do it's job. We need a border wall and congress decided to make political hay at the detriment of this country. Our response is to replace our congress, not give more power to the executive.

If you are speeding towards the edge of a cliff, putting your hands over your eyes doesn't change the impending doom. Exodus 20:5 and 6 - You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments. Matthew 3:9 - And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. Jeremiah 10:24 - Correct me, O LORD, but with justice; Not with Your anger, or You will bring me to nothing.
