What might work is to treat campaign promises as "verbal contracts" (if I am elected, then this will happen), subject to litigation if the contract is breached.

Hello govols. I think we're all mongrels one way or another. Slightly off the topic, but a Japanese friend of mine told me that most Japanese babies are born with what they call a "Mongolian spot". It is a birthmark on the bottom but it disappears as babies grow. Mongolian spots occur in around 90 percent of Asians - it seems that the "Mongolian spot gene" has been shared among them for centuries. ๐Ÿ˜‚ http://openprivatelife.blogspot.com/2013/05/mongolian-spot-asian-japan-moukohan.html

In this eye-opening talk, he pinpoints the moral values that liberals and conservatives tend to honor most. Jonathan Haidt studies how -- and why -- we evolved to be moral. By understanding more about our moral roots, his hope is that we can learn to be civil and open-minded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SOQduoLgRw
