Head Of Instagram Admits Facebook Bias: ‘We’re Not Neutral’ [dailywire.com]
Naomi comments on Jan 14, 2021:
Hello. *We are not neutral; no platform is neutral. * He's being honest, no? This site is dominated by right-wingers for example. And those platforms are run by private companies. Do you think they should be neutral?

Hello. Does one's opinion always have to be labeled as to whether it is conservative or liberal? One should be free to change one's opinion as the circumstances change although one's core principles stay the same.
Naomi replies on Jan 14, 2021:
@Joehlert11 I know I sound naive when I say this but I believe that we are all conservative in that we want to conserve good things that are working well for us all, and we are all liberal in that when there needs to be a change to improve the current situation, we will consider it.
What did Trump do, if anything, to incite violence?
Naomi comments on Jan 13, 2021:
Hasn't any news reporter asked Trump the very question yet? He would probably say 'No' in public but he may say 'Yes' to the people close to him, or "No, honestly!" to them in which case he is a honest person. We simply don't know what kind of person he really is.

Naomi replies on Jan 13, 2021:
@bastion *A main hacker of Parler documented the data dump on Twitter.* *The main hacker, Twitter user @donk_enby, began by archiving every post from Jan. 6, 2020, the day of the Capitol riot. Gizmodo reported, “Operating on little sleep, @donk_enby began the work of archiving all of Parler’s posts, ultimately capturing around 99 percent of its content...@donk_enby said she was crawling some 1.1 million Parler video URLs.”* *The hacker soon crowdsourced her work to help download data faster.* *So, how did this hacker get all the information in the first place? Parler’s process of “deleting” users' posts helped a lot. According to Vice, like most online apps and services, Parler didn’t actually delete user posts. Instead, they marked them as unviewable and omitted them from search results. Similar to when you make a YouTube video “Unlisted.”* *"I am now crawling URLs of all videos uploaded to Parler. Sequentially from latest to oldest. VIDXXX.txt files coming up, 50k chunks, there will be 1.1M URLs total: https://donk.sh/06d639b2-0252-4b1e-883b-f275eff7e792/"* https://twitter.com/donk_enby/status/1348281459031814146?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1348281459031814146%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.distractify.com%2Fp%2Fparler-data-dump https://www.distractify.com/p/parler-data-dump On this occasion, it doesn't look like fake news.

Naomi replies on Jan 13, 2021:
@WorldSigh, @bastion *Parler's cardinal security sin is known as an insecure direct object reference, says Kenneth White, codirector of the Open Crypto Audit Project, who looked at the code of the download tool @donk_enby posted online. An IDOR occurs when a hacker can simply guess the pattern an application uses to refer to its stored data. In this case, the posts on Parler were simply listed in chronological order: Increase a value in a Parler post url by one, and you'd get the next post that appeared on the site. Parler also doesn't require authentication to view public posts and doesn't use any sort of "rate limiting" that would cut off anyone accessing too many posts too quickly. Together with the IDOR issue, that meant that any hacker could write a simple script to reach out to Parler's web server and enumerate and download every message, photo, and video in the order they were posted.* It sounds frightening.

Here is a good example: One of the most startling images, quickly shared across social media, shows a man dressed with a painted face, fur hat and horns, holding an American flag. @CookieMonster I recently learned that police officers are allowed to join unions in America. It's a cult. Yes, I'm beginning to think so, too. It's common that protest marches are hijacked and peaceful protesters are misled by people with ill intentions. But at the end of the day they allowed those unlawful actions to take place. Why is it so difficult to be honest and admit it? I don't understand.

Hello CookieMonster. I find it pathetic that Trump supporters blame Antifa and BLM for leading them into the building. They seem to be saying that "Antifa/BLM made us do it." They are all grown-ups. They could've said to themselves "Hang on, this isn't right," and stopped themselves storming into the building. They're responsible for their own actions.
It just baffles me when people dont want to talk politics right now.

Naomi replies on Jan 9, 2021:
@Joehlert11 There is a flaw to the assumption that quiet people are timid and possibly thick and therefore they don't act. I often find it opposite. When I say there is more to life than politics, I mean seeing things in the right perspective and that varies from person to person depending on what goes on in their lives. Incidentally, I live in England. When you guys in America say "politics", that's specifically American politics, isn't it? You sound tense and worked up, but it's understandable because you have a high stress situation right now. I rest my case.
It just baffles me when people dont want to talk politics right now.

@Joehlert11 It is hard to find thinkers who have the discipline, calmness and intellectual curiosity to seek to understand and engage opinions that are different from their own, and such an open-minded approach is completely different from compromising or caving in to an opposite or different view.
It just baffles me when people dont want to talk politics right now.
Naomi comments on Jan 9, 2021:

Naomi replies on Jan 9, 2021:
@EgyptianRedpill I get your point, but we simply don't know what is going on in other people's lives, hence my original comment; there is more to life than politics. To some, making the most of every moment (because they don't have much time left, for example) is much more important than politics. Plus, I find that the politically-minded are not necessarily free thinkers (once I found that someone's political views are so fixed that they won't even acknowledge different views from theirs, I get bored of them :P). The loudest are not necessarily most intelligent or wisest people. Social media platforms are not necessarily healthy places to discuss politics. They are often dominated by loud keyboard warriors who hide behind masks. Since I get the impression that the original post assumes political discussions on social media rather than in the real world, I find it much better to talk about politics with my friends and family in the real world. :)
Be gentle with it. 🤣
