There is a difference between "absentee ballots" and "mail-in ballots." As I understand the way it works in most states, a person typically has to request an absentee ballot, verifying his or her identity and giving a reason that he or she cannot vote in person. Mail-in ballots were being sent out in vast mailings to many addresses for which there was not even any certainty that the person it was being sent to actually lived there. Then there was the fact that just about anyone could have filled one out and sent it in with no way of verifying who the person is. Mail-in balloting was thus rife with the kind of fraud we saw in the last election, fraud that is not usually found with absentee ballots. Yes, absentee ballots are typically mailed in, but they are not what are referred to as "mail-in ballots." People have often conflated the two in their reporting, which is why some falsely accused Trump of hypocrisy, claiming that he himself utilized a "mail-in ballot," when he actually voted by means of an absentee ballot. There needs to be a tightening of the language used when we refer to these votes, but I don't think those on the Left want this because constantly and falsely conflating "absentee voting" with "mail-in voting" more broadly works in their favor and allows the MSM to constantly misrepresent what is happening in a way that favors their narrative.

He apparently expects his listeners to simply take his word for these things while telling them that they shouldn't be doing that when they watch the news. It seems a bit hypocritical to me. Also, I don't know on what occasion this speech was given, but I'm hoping that it wasn't intended to be a sermon, since there wasn't a word of Scripture in it. So, he is trying to tell Christians how they should behave and what they should believe without once appealing to the authority upon which they are supposed to base their lives. Now, he might be right about some of the things he says, but I'm definitely of no mind to simply take his word for it.

It is so sad to hear what is happening in our military. Those on the Left know that U.S. military and veterans tended to vote for Donald Trump in the last election, and now they are being punished for it. I don't think it will work, though. I think most military will stand by their principles and refuse to bow to these edicts, especially since they know the Biden administration is only temporary. Of course, many will also simply leave the military, refusing to re-enlist when the time comes, rather than stick around for such nonsense. I suspect that recruitment will also go down by a fairly large margin, especially since, at least in my experience, it is more conservative citizens who tend to want to serve.

No, it is not the time to change the Constitution in order to put an upper age limit on the presidency. The fact is that this man's age isn't really the issue; it is his mental instability. Yes, it is connected to his age, but many of that age are still quite sharp, and the fact is that the electorate didn't pick this man, probably in large part due to what they saw as mental impairment. He is in office because the election was stolen in order to put him there, against the actual will of the people. In other words, had the election been fairly and legally conducted, this mentally impaired elderly man would never have gotten into office. Instead, the electorate would have chosen another man -- one who is in his mid-seventies -- who is quite sharp and capable despite being that age. Having said all of this, and even though I'm not sure it is a necessity, I'm quite open to the pursuit of a constitutional amendment to add an upper age limit, and, if the people want it, the amendment process will be successful.
